Dyno run on nitrous- Why so different?

My buddy's LS1 was running a 100 shot and he only got a 70 RWHP gain and like 125 RWTQ gain. I on the other hand almost got 200 RWTQ gain and 150 RWHP gain from the 150 shot! Does my cam and open exhaust make that much of a difference in how much nitrous power I make?

Did you really make more NA real wheel HP than torque??? What do you shift at? It all depends on jetting, bottle pressure, pumping losses, wet or dry syatem, there are too many variables.

You didn't say if you both were running the same brand kit, the same style system (wet or dry), and if both were running the correct bottle pressure and fuel pressure. Too many variables / not enough information.

the first numbers sound like NOS dry #'s and the second set sound like NX or TNT wet #'s

we both are running NOS kits, his is dry mine is wet. I have no pressure gauge but he has a bottle heater and a gauge. My bottle was warm during my run and I am sure his was too.

Oh by the way, I entered in a 2 instead of a three, its suppose to be 354 RWTQ

so i was pretty close, I do alot of dynoing here. if you check the jet sizes between the two kits like for the same size shot (I saw that he used a 100 and you the 150) like your 150 and his 150 and compare the orafice size between the two you will see that the "dry" shot size orafice is very "optimistic" usually no where near the .069-.073 size needed to deliver the approximate 6 lbs per minute required for 150 hp at 900-1100 psi. this is just the nature of manufacturers and thier figures on ratings. the NX kits are all "wet" and at $489 are a bargain for the LS1, LT1, or TPI cars. they deliver as advertised within a plus or minus of just a couple of HP.
