oil leaking problem since s/c install
Since the installation of the Vortech supercharger, the engine leaks much oil.
the serviceman told me that its the valvecovergasket witch is leaking. also there is oil coming out of the upper end of the dipstick because there is not enough vacuum.
is there anyone who had this problem also. what can be done against it?
Thanks for the help
Pat

I am having similar problems with oil leaking somewhere on the passenger side after running with a Supercharger a while.
I think I have narrowed it down to the oil dipstick, and possibly the valvecover.
I have an ATI Procharger, and the PCV lines went into the open like ATI says the should do...
Any good ideas about how to solve the problem?

I have seen cars that if you look under them while someone else disconnects the PCV it will start dripping.

Or is it safe to reconnect it and it might solve the problem?

But shouldn't the PCV system be disconnected and vent to open air if you follow the installation manual?

You use something else than the standard PCV valve?
Right now, I have the PCV hoses routed like they say in the Procharger install manual, with both of them venting to into the open, but I still have the PCV valve on the drivers side like before the install.

leaving the pcv valve hooked up and using an inline steel one- way check valve (available industrialy), or using and additional inline pcv valve with your regular valve. http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/valve.html and see one (same exact ones from old mazdas are the ones incon sells in their kits) see here http://members.aol.com/projectsvo/pcvmod.html I believe that some research through grainger or some industrial supply house should net some of theses babys, because if you think you can just call incon and they will answer their phones let alone sell you one, good luck! P.S. mine is from an incon installation leftover extra supplied in kit.

i have seen that the pcv line goes into the intake elbow right before the s/c. is this right?

if you notice most cars have a total of three holes in the two valve covers. one is for filling oil and is plugged by the cap so forget about that one the other is a vent that can allow air to breath in an out of une valve cover its line hooks between the filter and the blower. this is so that crank case vapors pressurised by back pressure will go right into the engine for some type of consumption (not always the best but it is what it is for) or this same line acts as a draw through when the PCV is pulling ( on the other side of the engine on the other valve cover ) and give the PCV somewhere to pull from through the crankcase of the engine. some guys dont like to contaminate the intake charge with all that oil vapor so they cut it in half by putting a open filter on that v.cover or by hooking the line to a catchcan with a vent (like me). this is not smog legal but I dont understand how the procharger way is either, because they tell you to unhook these lines to atmosphere anyway. the other half of the oil vapor contamination comes from the PCV intake charge itself hooked to the intake (like mine with a check valve) to eliminate this would require a vacuum pump (from moroso and others)

Swisscheese,
goto http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com and get the manual.
The right (passenger) valve cover is VENTED to the air intake tube, the left (driver) valvecover is PVC'd as normal to the plenum.
You're gonna start breaking stuff if you don't circulate your system right. This is your problem.
