How are these units? I have the chance to buy one that looks the same but can't find much info on it. The guy said it was running at 12 psi and made about 100hp. Does that sound right? What are they worth with manifolds, crossover and all piping? Thanks.

Don't know enough about them. 2 might be a touch to big for a street engine. Here's some compressor maps.

hey a couple of questions I was wondering if you would share what you payed for the kit and explain how you plan to use it. I also found the installation instructions online so e-mail me if you need that info. Because I also have the same kit but have not really had the time to reengineer it to make it work with FI and keep us posted on how you use the kit.

i paid 150 for it.

the guy ran it at 8psi on a 327 with 9.5:1 comp.

i plan on running on my 350 tpi, so i will have to get intake pipes, crossover pipe from driver side, down pipe, boom tubes to exit in front of the rear wheels, adjustible fuel regualator, bigger injectors, electronic adjustible wastgate, blow off valve, $700 in high per. msd ignition parts (highest quallity so i can reuse on my bored and stroked 350 twin tubo project) adjustible boost ****, and would like propane injection so i can turn up the boost when i need to.

91RamAir Formula, i would like to have the instuctions so you can email them to azzkker1@hotmail.com .

thanks
anthony

also, the turbo is bolted onto the manifold. the intake plate well sits on the intake under the carb, conected to the turbo via metal intake hoses.

thanks

Well, depending on the rest of your combination, looks like you've got enough turbo there to feed about 450-500hp before your efficientcy really falls off...

578 hp to be precise. that is how much the turbo will support with no problem in its current form. i plan on running about 8-10 psi of boost to begin with, so obviously, i wont have that much power to start.

thanks

No offense here, but explain to me how you are going to get a S-trim compressor wheel to flow the amount of air to support 578hp

That is more of an H3 compressor wheel

that hp number is just the max hp rating that the manufacturer said it could support in a statistics page. althogh i cant verify that is how much it would produce because all the information about this turbo was on other sites and personal sites ( msn, yahoo of sorts) so there is no gaurentee that it willl produce 450 until i put on and put it to the max.

what would you say it would produce in its current state at a max?

thanks
anthony

At the redline for the compressor wheel it is only pushing maybe 37lbs/min....as a rule of thumb on forced induction motors @ 100% VE.....every lb/min is equivalent to 10hp

so at the VERY most if you motor is very efficient (ie over 100% which isn't hard to do with a boosted setup) you're looking at a wall of 400-410hp and that is pushing it....you'd probably explode the wheel

i would like to but i want to totally tear down mt car this winter and repaint it at work black colorcrome. so i am trying to get a somewhat beefy motor pretty cheaplly, so i can save it for the tear down, plus i want to build my twin up on a late 90 vortec 4 bolt truck motor, to handle the power and revs of a twin setup. anouther factor is that my 84 supra broke a conecting rod, and i need to do a total build up of it, and of course me being me, i am not just going to use stock parts. i plan to put at least 300 at the rear wheels in my supra, should be good enough for mid 12's, pretty good for my winter i would say . so i have all these things going against me and i still need to buy anoughter 10 grand in tools for work (but tax deductible ) so i will be out of that till tax return time. so much stuff to buy, so little money.

might have to take up street racing for money after i get my single turbo going on my iroc.

thanks
anthony
