LT4 - add a blower or add NOS ?
well i have a new idea now. if i were to run a mildly tuned super on this engine (on the right, LT4 style) what kind of hp increase could i expect @ something low like 6-8 #'s of boost ?
what parts would i have to replace though, if it's straight out of the box it should be strong enough already ? is the LT4 straining to push those 429 hp bc i'd like to hit 600 but even 550 would be great.
or, on the other hand, would it be more cost effective to buy that crated LT4 engine and just have a cheater shot of NOS @ about 100hp or 125hp to spray for dragging or when i'm falling behind ? i've been searching and unless i steal a new buick and rip the SC off i don't think i can get one for less than 3K

I know the one one the left is a 10. somethin : 1 but do the LT4's heads make it even higher?

how do you take it from 350 to 355 by opening up the chambers? explain this to me. is that kind of like stroking a motor by putting longer rods in it?

Yeah they'll get better numbers on the LT4 when both are ported, but look into getting the heads, and then porting etc and it really starts to add up, dont be surprised if you end up dropping 3k total for some ported LT4's by the time your done, not to mention, how do you plan to go about bolting up a blower ?

well the S/C is out for now, see why here
are you serious though that i'm looking at 3K just to get the heads ported and polished ? b/c if u are then i'm just going to juice it and hold back for the s/c and an install somehow.

Heh i've already got that solved, two soloutions....
1. There is a powerdyne kit for the 94-96 LT1 impala, it mounts the blower in almost the same spot as the tpi kits, not sure if you could put their gear driven in it, but its possible...
2. Use either a manual rack kit from PA with the tubular K member, or they can put the 4th gen rack mounts on it to retain power steering and use any of the f body kits you want.

One pair of solenoids are for the fuel and the other 2 are for the nitrous. Blue is Nitrous and Red is Fuel.
Here is a wide shot of most of the stuff,
My heads are in those boxes,

Heads are stock LT4's with some bowl work done to them.
Here is the price breakdown for the buildup so far,
Complete LT1- $1,000
LT4 Heads and LT4 Intake- $850
NOS Direct Port Fogger Setup- Traded my entire exhuast for this, headers to exhaust tips.
Comp Cams Pro Magnum Rockers- $150
LT4 Hot Cam- Traded my SLP Dual CAI for it.
O2 Sensors- $40
A/C Delete Pulley- $40
30lbs Injectors- $100
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator- $25
Manley Guide Plates- $15
I guess that is about all I have purchased so far.
Still need a few more items though.
Another $3000 or so and my car will be on the road.

wow. i assume that a few of those parts left to get include forged internals if you're going to run a 200 shot ?
*no edit, just remembered - "wow" is precisely what my gf said after the car spun at 85 and jumped the curb sideways at 55. that's a hell of an engine is what i meant to say

I may just go with a smaller shot for this motor and build up a 383 forged shortblock and then swap all the upper parts onto that in the future.
There are so many parts that I want to buy for the car, I'll probably have $25K+ into the car when I am competely done and satisfied. It will take a long time to get it the way I want it.
