How "hitting the button" feels?
I recently installed an NX GM EFI wet kit with the GenX-2 acc. kit and today I just tried the 100hp jets. I was in 2nd gear at about 45 mph and had 1/2 throttle. When I floored it, tripping the microswitch, I didn't feel a "hit" as much as I felt a surge of acceleration (much faster than normal). Is this normal...can anyone else descibe to me what it should feel like? Bottle pressure was about 1000 psi and fp is swt to 44 psi at WOT. Timing is at 6* initial and I am using plugs 2 heat ranges colder.
1 more thing - it seemed as if either my torque converter was seriously straining on the 2-3 shift or the transmission itself was slipping on the shift. This is my original tranny. Any thoughts on this one?
Thanks for all your help
Kyle

100HP shot on a stock tranny with a B&M shift kit?
eh, bye bye tranny.... lay off the nitrous if you need it to last, otherwise it will be toast very shortly.
if it doesn't slip at all off the bottle, you may be able to put in a decent shift improver/kit (transgo), use larger boost valves and whatnot, and maybe that will hold it, but it just depends what kind of condition the frictions are in, in the tranny.
visit the transmission board and post a msg for probuilt and transfixleo and the other tranny experts, they can give you the best advice.

You will be fine with a stock tranny, but it will not last AS long. Do this, come to a complete stop, have your nitrous off, start rolling and go about 5mph then punch it off the line and see how easy you put them up in smoke and how fast you get to your rev limiter, now do the same thing but with the nitrous on and you should really put them up in smoke.

while i'll agree that a non-slipping tranny will hold up under nitrous (but not as long), he already said his tranny was slipping. if it's slipping, it's heating the fluid and burning the frictions out and glazing them so that they slip even more. it's a downward spiral.
also. measuring a smokeshow is not how to gauge the usefulness of nitrous. take it to a drag strip, and make a few passes without, and a few passe with. the differences will be in black and white on your timeslip
