It looks just like the one a guy I used to bracket against at sears point owned. he had two (one show, chopped top, purple was the BFG comp ta-ZR purple poster car , and one red, race, caged, w/adj wastegate), and a viper but it might have been his daughters boyfreinds car. he roadraced and bracket raced it. he told me once that he could turn up the boost and run a 10.90 with it, and that he had when he and his buddies rented the track! he was content with 12.05 all day long though.

B4C, you wouldn't happen to have a header shot of either of those engines would you?

I know that the banks kit used small turbos (does anybody know if they were T3's?) and that they made larger turbos like T4's with T3 flanges, does anybody know if thats what Im seeing here? in this picture? I know somebody with an old banks system for sale, its in good shape, could this be done? did the old banks kit use T3's? did banks have different manifolds (small and large)?

That looks like Andris' setup. Either way, those are T04's (probably T04b's but its hard to tell without seeing them closer up)...

I'm not positive that I'm following, but maybe this will help.

I'm prety sure that the Banks manifolds were only built with T04 flanges on them (which are bigger then T03). That was probably a move to give the most flexablility since the smallest T04 flows less then some of the bigger T3's and the biggest is much bigger.

I was asking because the guy whose address I posted has a system for sale and he says the turbos in the kit are smallish, he is getting back to me with some #'s from the housings. the system was designed for a un intercooled, computer controlled, carbed, 305, smog motor, running pumpgas. the turbos are supposed to be rather small so I doubt the T4 thing for his system but you guys are the ones that showed me that T4s can be had with T3 flanges (cool) could that be whats in the picture? also maybe banks made big and small flange manifolds?

Ok, I might be seriously dense but I think the more you’ve explained the less I’m understanding. The pictures you posted are Andris’ engine (his original, pre intercooler intake ducting and the blue SPD plaque on the top for the TB give that away). Those are TO4E 40 series O trim .58AR turbos. The Banks manifolds come just with the bigger T4 flanges, I haven’t heard of them coming with smaller T3 flanges. T4’s do not come with T3 flanges. Some turbonetics aftermarket turbos do, but in most cases if you’re talking about a T4 compressor that will bolt up to a T3 setup you’re talking about a t4/t3 hybrid (T4 compressor on a T3 CRA and turbine).

So have I answered your question or am I completely in the wrong ballpark?
