Made pass. side downpipe. Pics inside.

This wasn't the nightmare I thought it was gonna be. Actually it was pretty easy. And I got the pipe for free. Went across the street to Austin Pro Max and asked them to bend me some pipe and they had some scrap and bent it till I said stop. Totally cool and free. I love having an autoparts store and a mufler shop right across the street. Very handy.

pretty cool...

What are you using for the whitness marks (the white stuff)?

Are those 2.5 or 3"?

Thanks all. The drivers side is another story. I've cut up all my bends and still can't get it. Gonna have to get some more. I thought the drivers side was gonna be easier, that's why I did the pass. side first cause it looks like I have more room on the the drivers side. But I need sharper bends and I didn't really have any. I was duct taping pieces of pipe together to try and get it right, but I just need the right bends.

I'm using a white Dykem marker and 2 1/2" exhaust pipe going into my original Y pipe catback exhaust.

Man, you like that camera...

I'll be really interested to see how your setup spools. I've driven a car with the same turbos on a ford 351 (should be similar WRT exhaust volume) with 3" down pipes, and they started to spool around 3K, and didn't spool completely till the top of 2nd gear (he was running 16psi). Generally, the less restriction after the turbo the faster it will spool.

OTOH, I'm pretty sure that Andris is running 2.5" down pipes with larger turbos...

the driverside downpipe has to go all the way back to the firewall (straight) and take 90* turn and go down

That'll never happen on my car. Is there any specific reason why I have to do it that way? I hope not. Cause I was planning on a 90 off the turbo down towards the motor mount area then a 90 going towards the fire wall then whatever bend I need to connect it to my exhaust. Is my plan not good? Thanks.
