My turbo headers (srch words: log style twin header DIY)

Well, I spent about 8 hours on Saturday fooling around with one of my log style turbo headers. Here is a pic of what it looks like so far...

I might as well address a few things first ....

1) Yea, it's ugly, I'm not a car show kinda guy..
2) Performance, sub-par at best, I know.
3) I thought it would be fun instead of shelling out 300 canuck-bucks for truck headers or something.
4) Total invested for both headers, 40 canuck-bucks. Includes SS welding rods, free headers, and a couple peices of SS pipe.

Details are on my site in my sig if anyone cares to have a peek.

Cheers!!

Lookin good. When I did mine I wish I would have made mine like yours with that end one turning into the log. Keep us updated.

Thanks Brad... I really like the layout of yours tho. That would have been the way I would have done it if I had of been able to get more 2" 90 degree bends, but all I could get was around 4 or 5 and 3 of them turned out to be some sort of aluminum composite.. Oh well, we'll see how these work out.

Cheers!

twin turbo big block with log manifolds.......never been dynoed but could probably make around 1100hp or so, maybe more. At 10psi and 3900lbs and a bad torque converter it went 10.00@140

983hp dynoed on the motor @ 24.3psi.....has the smallest exhaust housings you can put on a T4 (.58a/r). Put a larger exhaust housing and you have an easy 1000hp+ motor

Logs work just fine

That hose going from the turbo to the intake is what I was thinking of using. We have that stuff at work. I figured it would work and now after seeing it on your car I know it'll work. Cooool.

I dont know if you know or not, but that is wire re-inforced hose. It just isn't all rubber type hose.

Yup, I know what it is. It's some heavy duty stuff. Takes lots of abuse. But we still manage to tear it up at work. How expensive is it?

89Procharged, didnt the guy with the camaro end up with twin 70's on it? I thought he was down in the low 9's with the upgraded turbo's?

Yup, those are 70s on it. He didn't run the car all year....at 3950lbs and 10psi it went 10.00@140 with a bad torque converter (no boost on the brake)

ya, its close. It says in his little pocket dyno book that at 3950lbs to go 140mph you need 850hp at the crank and these are ideal situations with the best possible 60' and gearing/converter possible

so i'd guess around 1000
