This is my 91 Trans Am. Been on top for 6 months now the guys below are also running NOS, Superchargers, and strokers Keep in mind that this is street racing. Some cars may be faster @ the track but on the street TPI torque is king. I know this will make my 3rd gen brothers very proud.

LOL.....what do you guys race? to the 330' foot mark on the street????

i dont know what kinda street racing you do but 'round here we mark off a 1/4.

well usually....sometimes we'll mark it shorter if the opponent doesn't notice :P

Top out? On the street??? What are you racing, Chevettes? I know, diesel VW rabbit convertibles...

First, it will take a few MILES to top out, second, any reasonable f-body will top out at over 140mph (I've gotten clocked by police radar at 148 in my '83 TA and I've got a pic of the speedo in my '97 WS6 pegged, about 165mph). Looking back, both were a completely insane thing to do and even when I did them I wouldn't consider doing it regularly or while racing some idiot...

You know, I won’t condemn you for street racing, I bet half or more of this board have done it at some time, but I will condemn you for being idiots about it (or liars).

What the hell is this doing on the power adder forum anyway?

its here because i thought you might like to se what n2o can do for a 3rd gen like yours. 4.10 and 4.56 gears believe me some cars will top out. Dont be a hater bro. We just have a very special way of enjoying our cars and have been blessed with some long wide empty Texas roads.

When street racing, there is a clear point when it isn't necessary to go further, there is a clear winner. For a street race not to be obvious (not door to door) within the first 10 seconds or so, the cars would have to be running inside a few tenths of a second of each other in the 1/4 mile. If you've got the petal mashed and the guy next to you is pulling away, he's faster. End of story. If we're comparing top speeds, I've taken my normaly aspirated 300ZX to 150 many times on I70 between Vegas and CO.

yeah I used to do street racing down in colorado and those guys would do the same thing. Like an import that you just left at the stoplight would do; fly by after you get out of it or stop past the 1/4 mile then go back to the starting line and argue about how he beat you or caught you. I only race if there is a goal and that goal is winning. the only way I know of marking a winner is with a finish line. I make no qualms about it, does your car go 150 on the highway, does it corner like its on rails, then great! thats awsome! but dont try to race me for 3 miles in my 1/4 mile abusive beast drag car that just so happens to drive anywhere (unless of course you would like me to go change my 9" center for the 3.00's) With my T56 and 500-600ftlbs at my disposal a top speed race is then only a shock adjustment away.

I know your camaro would smoke my Z, it's a lightly modded NA V6, and that's why I sold it to my buddy. Back when I was driving that car I knew that I could keep spending astronomical amounts on little bits of power, but I would never run with V8's, enter the Firebird! By the way, how do you like the Super Ram? Does it pass smog OK? in what state? do you use NO2 with it? Thanks for the help.

I have exactly the same set up you have including your future mods and 3.70 gears. But if I had to do it over again I would just look for some aftermarket heads online. The cost difference isnt worth it. Good luck with your car and maybe someday you can make it to the races on a Thursday night to Mcallen. Sunday night we race @ Elsa but not as good as the Mcallen races.
