ProCharged w/ knock !!!! Help.
I am running a 1991 TA 305 TPI with a ProCharger (10 # boost). I am getting knock and timing retard with just a flash of boost.
I am looking into either a boost timing control module or an alky/water kit.
Please let me know what the consensus is on these items.
I currently have a Jacob's Pro Street set up so I would prefer to find something that would allow me to keep it. Brand new.
Thanks.

I am not sure what the base timing is at. Have to check data at idle. I am working with a prom programmer. He is trying to get the knock down, but he said there is only so much he can do in boost with the speed density set up.
The plug gap is at 35 as recommended by Jacob's.
I have read many threads on this today and it looks like most others running boost have had this problem.
Many have solved it successfully with alky/water injection.
Looks like list member Newtowner is selling SMC kits for less than Steve directly. So I am probably going that route.
Thanks.

Looks like $350. Even used they are going for over $300.
All the post I read say the kit is well done and worth the $$$.

I'm running the MSD 6BTM. I highly recommend it. The MSD 6BTM allows the driver to retard the ignition timing based on the amount of boost being produced by the supercharger. The timing is adjusted from a dash mounted **** and can be retarded 1 - 3° per pound of boost with a maximum of 15°. There is also a built-in adjustable rev control to protect the engine from over-rev damage. PN 6462

I talked to Steve today about his alky/water kits and if they are applicable to supercharged cars.
Reason being that I am going to 15# boost on a stock bottom end and need the added insurance!!!
He said that his current kits are made for Turbo Buicks and the spray comes on full at a set boost. Usually 12#.
He said that he is a month away from putting out a progressive kit that will be for supercharged engines. The pump speed will increase with boost giving more spray as boost increases. Thereby giving spray for the entire boost cycle.
I will be looking into this kit.
He seems to get great response from those with his product. And the price is resonable.
Will keep you posted.
