Nitrous kit on backorder so I had time to put these in, what do you guys think? From left to right: arming switch, go button, purge valve control, remote bottle opener.

For the trans temp guage I got a Permacool remote transmission filter kit, it comes with a provision to install the trans temp sender, the remote filter kit installs in line between the radiator trans line output and the trans.

Wouldn't it be better to have the GO button on the shifter?

Personally I would install a red go button... "You see the red button? Push the red button." .. : )

Cool thinking, just a couple of suggestions tho.
The go button should be some place like the shifter so it is easier to access and still be able to shift and steer.
Also, putting a fuel pressure gauge where your trans temp gauge might be a good idea, trans temp isnt crucial to have at eye level, but some things (like fuel pressure, air fuel ratio) are very important with nitrous. Just suggestions, looks good dude.

Yeah I was thinking about the trans temp guage, give or take 10 degrees, it usually stays the same and a fuel pressure guage might be a better choice, also I can add another single pod for the fuel pressure, I have been looking at that to. The go button might go away in liew of a WOT switch, The only thing I am worried about there is if the nitrous is on to long. Also looking at the go button closer to the shifter, but not sure how much manual shifting I will do with the automatic, I guess I will have to see how it all works out when I get it going. Thanks for the inputs.

I know of some drag strip's like the one in menphis tenn. that wont let you run at thier dragstrip if you have a fuel pressure gague monunted on the inside of you car because of the risk of fire.

P.S. What is up with those seat covers. They look like they were taking from a pimp mobil from the 70,s

Looks good.

Id also replace the Trans temp with Fuel Psi.

And the fuel pressure gauge/ fire comment.

ANy of the incar gauges use a issolator ouside the firewall.
(so you dont run a fuel line inside)

or are electric like my Autometer Phantom.

Dragstrips don't object to fuel pressure gauges in the car, they object to fuel being in the car. You can get a fuel pressure isolator which pushes anti-freeze to the gauge or you can even find electronic senders now.

Don't diss those covers, they are real comfortable!
I had a set in another car and loved them, but you are right, they do give the 70's look. Just don't have long sideburns and bell bottom pants!

I used my horn button for my nos. The button is out by the ring and I can easily hit it with my thumb.

You can also get one of the ELECTRIC fuel presure guages that makes fuel inside the car a non issue....also, What is peoples opinion on the WOT switch vs button for NOS "GO"???

Clean install.

I'm weary of "go buttons" WOT switches are safer IMO.

Is your purge switch a momentary rocker? (spring loaded) You're going to waste a good amount of n2o if it's a standard on-off switch.

The blue button (your "go" button) is standard as the NOS purge button in case you didn't know.

I also agree with the others on have a fuel pressure gauge. Either go electric, or have a mech one mounted outside the car. (Cowl area)

I personally run a mechanical one in the A Pillar at the moment.. Hasn't given me any troubles, but I do have a nice extinguisher within reach...

I personally like WOT better than a button
just easier to have WOT switch than to always have to push a button

I still say I love the guys that accidentally hit the button at idle when getting ready for a race. LOL

if/when i go nitrous, i am going to run a wot switch and a go button, so that i can go wot off the line or in first and not have to worry about the nitrous coming on, then shift into second and hit the go button. that way the nitrous wont come on when i wanna stand on it but dont want nitrous, and wont come on when i want nitrous but am not at wot.

Unknown_host Hahaha I understand err I think.

Kinda agree with you though, hitting the bottle in 1st gear can be almost pointless if all it does is create more wheelspin..once you're under way at WOT and have traction and then "flick" the switch (not press it) in conjunction with a WOT presure"switch", you're gunna get more intelligent launches.

if you must have a go switch this is the very best way to do it :-)

That's the standard install from manufacturers using a WOT switch..

WOT + on-off rocker (go button)

Or, I guess you could do WOT + on/off rocker + go button

Overkill on switches.. There's a reason that Knight Rider is off the air.

OK, so how are you guys that have a manual transmission working the WOT and go button deal?

im still unsure as to how i want to set mine up.....i know i dont want the n2o on at launch, and i DO want it on at WOT, but what about shifts on a manual? i dont powershift cause i like my trans....It doesnt seem like a good idea to have the n2o wacking on and off

its fine to have it 'whacking off'

progressive controllers work by pulsing the solenoids.. That is a lot harder on a solenoid than just turning on and off in between shifts.

dependant upon my mood, i may not spray between shifts... So, it's the same effect..

ya the go button thing is cool, but i like the WOT switch alot better.....

are you guys using a momentary switch for a go button in conjunction with the WOT switch, so they juice only comes on while holding the go button at WOT?

i wasnt concerned about the solenoid "whacking off" so much lol....im more concerned about how much abuse the engine takes when the nitrous hits, then shuts off, then hits again.

so what do you do, hit the button, release button, shift, hit button, release button etc?

that sounds like an awful lot to do at one time.

You said you don't power shift, so you won't be at WOT, during the shifts. Just leave the switch on, and row through the gears.

Invest in a window switch though.. That way, if you miss a gear.. no kaboom.

ya thats what i mean, because i wont be at WOT during the shifts, i was worried about the nitrous shutting off, then hammering on the motor again when you went to WOT, and then again on the next shift etc
