Stealth Ram with a blower? (detonation?)
Done a search and it didnt help so dont yell at me
. If I put the stealth ram on my car wouldnt it highly increase my chances of detonation because of the EGR? I know its not emission legal and im not worried about that, however I got some $$$ in my engine and dont want to ping/detonate. I run 91 octane and show no problems. I talked to a guy at my work and he said I'd have to worry about octane boosters and what not. I just dont want to slap one of these babies on and create problems. Sorry if i missed a search that showed an answer for the already overposted stealthram.

I dont know of any blowers that require EGR to be able to function, with or without it, it would not be the source of detonation. I know the deal about EGR and detonation that you are talking about, but roots blower intakes dont have EGR provision right? I block mine off anyhow.

Do you know a way to prevent throwning a check engine light with the Stealth Ram because of the EGR. For ex. mounting it elsewhere on the car?

Probabbly gonna have to reburn my chip anyway because i'll be pushin a lot of air with my new AFR's(being made) and my soon to be stealth ram. Gonna need more fuel.
I'm doing the same thing. LT1 intake or StealthRam (Undecided, but Non-TPI) intake and a blower (Vortech blower in my case). I plan to swap in a 749 Sy/Ty ECM and burn custom chips. You might want to look into that as a cheap solution if you're thinking about upping the flow/boost/power. Or if you got the $$ just go aftermarket DFI.

I got a guy in town who here who's burned my chip 4 times now lol. (Starting to get use to this.)
Other than the EGR the stealth ram seems to be the clear way to go. Bang for the buck I think holley made a mean combo there. I really like the AS&M products but the runners alone run like 400$ give or take. How do you like the vortech hawaiian? Theres a kid in town who wants to race me with one on his L98 and I think it should be close. Getting the procharger to run right with the car was a PITA but now thats its done i'm pleased with the power. Thank *** for forced induction

I dont know how it would turn out. I actually have quite a few issues with my setup right now (related to high miles, 113K, and other stuff) so I know my car isn't putting out as much power as it should. I haven't run it at the tracks or anything yet. It also gets very hot, the Vortech setup seems to be too much for the stock cooling system and it kills the viscosity in the oil (leading to more problems as mentioned above). So there are some things I have to fix, but I also plan to build the motor, and when done and tuned right it should be pushing over 500 rwhp.
I know for sure if you get this intake, get it tuned right, and he's running tpi ... you'll eat him alive on the top end. If you ever want to do your own tuning and you dont want to mess with burning chips, Holley does make a DFI unit that comes with the StealthRam kit. The kits are matched with injectors and everything and they are pretty user friendly, but they are expensive. Or you can keep going with the guy burning chips, it seems to be working out for you. Good luck!!

My car has the overheating problems too. It was hitting 240+ in 65 degree weather after the procharger install. Took a Be-cool radiator and 2500cfm puller fans to cool it down. Not exactly what I wanted to be spending 500$ on.
Wow. I don't understand how you guys are running such high engine temps with your superchargers. I don't know much about the Procharger but I do know more about the Vortech and Paxton units.
I had a SN95 on my TPI, making 9 - 10lbs, and I noticed the car ran a little warmer (about 20 degrees warmer than prior to the install of the supercharger) but never over 220 (this was in South Florida during the summer with the A/C on). All I had was a 160 thermostat and changed the radiator fluid occasionally.
The Paxton is self-contained maybe that's the difference?!

I can only speak for myself, but I noticed higher engine temps after installing my D1SC and 3-core intercooler. With some experimentation, I discovered the reason to be the intercooler. It severely restricts airflow to the radiator. Living in the desert, it issue was extremely important, so I changed over to the twin intercooler design. My engine temps are now back to where they used to be.
