For the money, I'd really look into some ET Streets. My friends 85 went 9.97 @ 136 with these tires. I forget the exact spec's on em, but they hook good.
The ET's will last longer on the street because the rubber compound is harder than the DOT Hoosiers. Because of the harder rubber of the ETs they will also be a bit less consistent
I would go with the ET's for your street tire on the 16" rim. Use the 26 x 11.5 x 16 tire. That is what im going to be using. Not bad for all around driving just ABSOLUTELY NO RAIN. with good pressure in the tires i know people who have gotten 7,000 miles outta a set

Hey Prasad, how are things?
I'll have to side with these guys on the ET Streets.. They the best I've seen.. I run 26x11.5x15's and they hooked extrememly well with my 150 shot.. Now that I have the twins tho, it's a different story, but I bet it has to do with the cold weather and light salt residue on the street..
Also, my friend runs 10.2's on them in his 2600 lb datsun..
ET Streets all the way!
Cheers,

I think the best hooking street tire for its size that I ever ran were those M&H racemasters in the G60-15 (like 8.5"), I basically am a M/T ET street guy now but I plan on experimenting someday to see how they pan out. they use some different sizing now (like et streets) but I think if they hook now as good as they did back then I might switch.
