Eaton DRIVES!!

Well almost, its raining!

Still have no hood or windshield wipers.

From those who have been following, I've had a huge problem with this thing being extremely loud. Well i got a new blower on the car and it is wisper quiet. IT flat out doesn't make any noise at all.

It may make some noise at wide open but at an idle you flat out can't hear it at alll

Good job. IIRC from the picture that thing looked like it sat pretty high. What are you planning to do for a hood?

I'm taking it over to a guy with a tig welder to redo that upper intake, its made out of a thin aluminum and I can't weld it. After that it should fit. The throttle body is the only thing hitting.

I did get to drive the car tonight, I think i might have to get a tougher idler or something because the belt slips when I turn the AC on. IT doesn't seem to slip if i rev it hard, but it may if i put the blower under load.

The blower is still pretty quiet but as soon as your romp on the gas it lets you know its there. it is an incredible sound, I love it

My bypass valve probally wont arrive until next monday so I really won't be able to get into any boost until then.

I got the eaton running pretty good, all it needs is a bit more tuning and it should be a freaking monster.

I had a problem with the belt slipping under snappy revs and at any RPM with the A/C on and I corrected it by repositioning that idler to use up more of the belt (the belt was a touch too long)

The car seems to be snappy and responsive and its only on its 2nd tune

My bypass valve still hasn't come yet, It should be here monday. I've got the valve tapped down right now. It seems to have a harder time idling with the valve closed and also seems to produce a bit more noise.

I've got the stock elbow on the throttle body with a peice of shirt clamped over the opening to serve as a "bird and rock" filter. It doesn't work very well as far as flowing. When i put the motor under load it collapses the stock elbow

I took the car out and romped on it a bit tonight and it built 1psi of boost.. haha I guess between not having the bypass valve completely shut the cheeseball air filter it couldn't build any more boost. It was also running around 10:1 AFR... gotta fix that

I bought 2 180 degree 3 inch mandrel bends and have already mocked up a cold air intake but I will not finilize on it until i have the upper intake redone to clear the hood.

I'm really happy with the blower, its a completely different unit. This one does say FORD SVT on the front . I think i'll leave it so people who don't know will! This blower is also completley quiet at an idle. It doesn't make any noise at all. As soon as you get on it it makes a moany growl that is just competely badass.

Very cool. I'd leave the SVO logo, if it was mine. I love to give people head-fakes when they look under the hood!

Since you don't have a hood maybe borrow one of those conical K&N filters that mounts directly to the front of a GM TPI-style throttle body. Should work a tad better than a shirt.

I just got a K&N off a full size truck and clamped it to the throttle body. The car definately feels great now.

I didn't want to buy a throttle body fitler becaues i have a cold air intake made... there are details about why i can't use it yet. I'll just say this.. i've got it but can't use it right now

I can't wait for my bypass valve to arrive. I can either drive around with it open or shut. Open it doesn't make any boost but drives great. Close it has a hard time idling, pulls less vaccum, but makes boost.

I've got it closed right now and the car made a bit over 4psi at 3,000rpm and 60% throttle

I can't tell you guys how pleased i am with the sound, people flat out can't hear it at an idle or normal driving but as soon as you get on it it is extremely loud

made 7psi with a faulty boost gauge last night..

The stuiped little 1/8'th plastic line had a kink in it, it takes exactly 2 seconds for it to go from 20 inches to ATM when you cut the car off

now its good, i've got mixed feelings on what i will do if i see more boost than that

My line did the same thing, I hate that little **** line. If it makes 8 - 10 psi. I say tune it safe, get a BTM, and go with it.

Go slow and work up to full Bansai runs. You'll get it figured out. You'll bite your nails the whole way like I did but once you get that first full-throttle run under your belt and all the gagues still read in the green, the serious fun starts.

Have you tought about getting an underdrive crank pulley, they sell for 35$ on ebay. that could keep your max boost to 6-7 psi
