Sweet video but I am not really understanding the set-up? I see how it works but have never seen one set-up like that!

In that particular setup, the exhaust is run very similar to a stock setup, back to the area behind the rear axle, where the turbo is mounted. Its connected to the turbine, and then dumps out the back. The intake is the large can thing you see on the left in the video. From the compressor outlet, pipe runs the length of the trans. tunnel, then into the engine bay (the polished pipe you see in the shot of the engine). A pretty simple setup, just a lot of tubing to run.

My $.02:

- The exhaust is the stock exhaust up to the muffler
- The setup was designed around a high altitude application and is nowhere near optimal in any way.
- That guy runs about the same times as I do with my stock LT1… draw your own conclusions
- How many stinking times can you run a stop sign 'till you realize you're screwing up, you get a ticket or hit someone???
- Don't bother posting more to this thread until you've done a search for all the previous threads on it on this board and the other f-body power adder boards out there, it's been discussed to death, and then only if you have something new to say/new info…

well, the car sure doesn't look fast,.. just about as fast as stock! It's possible that it's slower/ sounds cool though

I can't imagine the turbo lag on that thing.

Here is the web site for the company making that kit. I ran by it looking for info on a chevy truck site. They make kits for the camaro, silverdo, taho, tundra, etc. I read the whole site and they answer a lot of the question you guys are asking. Of course I'm sure they are bias to their own product because they want to make a buck. They explain why their product work and a fairly extensive FAQ section and have a chart with "turbo lag" times on some of their setups. They also have a dyno chart with before and after results. They use a G-Tech which is pretty lame if you as me. If you are trying to sell something strap it to a real dyno! Look it over and make your own conclusion. Some of it sounds fishy to me. But you can hear the turbo spool in the video but I guess that dont mean crap if it's not making more power. I think it could work but would be a real comprimse from a properly setup turbo system. Also the $3,500 price tag for a comprimised setup does not seem remotely worth it.

Slow as compared to what? I've gotten my pregnant WS6 to run 13.0 with nothing but 4.10 gears, and I know people that have run similar times and even high 12's in lighter LT1 cars with slicks and cat back.

That guy posted that he's running mid/high 13's with the turbo, and he doesn't have any high altitude excuses like most of the other owners (he's in FL)
