That depends on the resources available to you. Any monkey with a set of basic tools can tune a carb, but tuning FI takes more specialized stuff. OTOH, if you're able to burn your own chips/do your own tuning you can dial in an FI setup to better match the airflow that you actually have.

Does it make a difference? Not really, unless you're going to be doing a lot of driving under some boost but not at WOT you probably won't even notice.

so basicly, it would be easier to do with a carb and use as a daily driver. but youd see 15 more hp out of it being tpi due to being able to fine tune it.

I've always thought the fab work for a carb was a little more difficult. Plus you have to put special parts in the carb once you determine how you're going to plumb it.

I wouldn't even go that far. Tuned correctly, assuming similar intake designs the peak HP would be the same and it would run the same at the track, but you may find that you can eek a little more out of the injected setup in the midrange where you might find that you can't do that with a carb without messing up the top end. Again, you'll never notice it.

That is assuming that your fuel is injected upstream someplace on the FI setup. If done with the more traditional injector placement there is a definite advantage with the carbed setup since the fuel gets added far enough upstream to have a slight charge cooling effect which should allow you to run a little more boost and make more power. Grumpy (another board member) is experimenting with removing the intercooler on his GN and running extra fuel injectors by the TB full time for added fuel and charge cooling. Last I heard he's got his MATs the same or better then what they were with the intercooler.

question is....single or twin turbo....for the 305...one huge one, or two decent sized ones.

i wish i had a welder!!!! id make us all turbo headers!! dammit!!!!

thats where the money os spent...on the fab work if you dont have a welder......

IF you do have awelder, i see a turbo set up running well...for around a grand....without the welder...2500 bucks...DOH

For a grand? Good luck. Unless you can make everything yourself and have half the parts sitting around that's not going to happen
