Water injection - Check this kit out
I bought this kid off a guy.. It says in the auction "For carb or throttle body only" I dunno why. I might have to change the nozzle out, or maybe add a solenoid. I'm not sure. But for the money, its worth it even as a "starter" kit if I have to collect a part or two more.
What do you think? I wonder why it says carb or tbi only.

It probably has to do with the way it mounts to the top of the air filter. Only a carb or tbi car would have an air filter housing like that. It should be very easy to adapt to any configuration though.

Almost bought one of those around the same time frame. Never heard anything bad about it besides having it on a vehicle that sat alot, they had a tendency to leak and thats not good for a vehicle that dont move
I'm sure that in no way applies to you.

I figure the nozzle will come right out of that carb sandwich thing.. Otherwise, I can get an aquamist nozzle.
Thanks for the replies folks.
Max, hows the car running with the vortec these days??

Pretty good I must say. Had to tweak a few things here and there, but it seems to be working perfectly now. Only thing I'm unsure of is where the WOT AFR really is, but I plan on hooking up a wb soon to see where its at. I think its not too bad, if the stock o2 can be trusted at all. At least the reading is consistent, its not ramping up or down as I stay in the throttle.

My runners (slp) and plenum are pretty much completly siamesed until about 1/3 the way into the runner (about as far as you can go.) I'll port the edelbrock intake some more this week (not siamese), and gasket match it to the 1205. Hopefully this combo will make it into the 11s this year.
Ditto on the wb. I think that, and a ecm test bench is in order soon.

I got the kit in the mail today..
First off, thats a spool of hose.. I thought it was a carb adapter too. The kit comes with a nozzle, and a few "jets".
The tank is nice and small, will mount fine. The nozzle might even work out nice.
Whats scary is the pump. I think I've seen GM windshield washer pumps that look better. wtf! And there is no safety solenoid to go inline, so i'll have to buy one. Ugg..
I don't think this pump will be able to pump water into the intake with 8psi of boost going on.
Any thoughts?

Nozzle.
Plastic nozzle.. Comes with 2 littel brass "jets"..
The only nice thing is this one way safety valve, so boost won't buble my tank if infact the pump is not enough.

I’ve seen people get over 40psi by running 2 windshield washer pumps…

More then 8-10 psi.
I don't mean to sound like a smart ***, but it just needs to be enough pressure to force the water in, then you size the nozzle for the flow you want at the pressure differential that you get. I'd bet that you can run as low as 2-3psi over your boost pressure with an HVAC mister nozzle (used in cheap humidifiers)

I put some water in it earlier, and kicked the pump on. It filled a 20oz coke bottle in 10 seconds. This was w/out a nozzle,a nd just a 1/4 hose.
Tomorrow I'll throw one of the nozzles they gave me and see how well it works. I need a gauge to check the output psi of the pump.
Thanks.

For the sake of my wanting to know, and trying not to look to stupid in the process....
why exactly are you shooting water into your tbi/carb?

If you do some research on water/alky injection you'll find its very benneficial for supercharged (and other) applications. It cools down the intake charge, and prevents detonation. The end result is cooler air, more timing, less octane, and more power. I hope.
