I whack it right off the line at the track, the Accel gives it a .85 second delay on the street. some people are afraid to.

What is this, the fast and furious? When you turn on the N2O it's not like you go shooting forward, and it's not like you wait for something before you do it.

Most people arm it when they line up and have it setup to turn on at WOT and sometimes use a window switch to make sure that it doesn't turn on at too low an RPM (pretty much not an issue since by the time you've got your foot all the way down your RPM's are up high enough that it won't be a problem).

Personally, I've used a 175 and 200 shot with a progressive controller set to arm around 2700rpm and be completely depending on where I'm at. Most of the time I set that to be well above any rpm that I'll ever actually reach so I don't get a full shot, but at the track I've had it fully in by 4000rpm.

The only real reason that I could see for having it setup with a "button" is if you're street/grudge racing (very bad idea to spray on the street) and don't want anyone to know how fast your car really is and you just use it to stay ahead of the other car.

Mark,

Sorry if i sounded to "fast n furious" for you... but no need to make a comment like that. Again i have never worked with nitrous. I always thought It was controlled by a button. Having it hooked up to my throttle would be awsome ( i dont have a system, this is all for future planing ). I have seen it hooked up to a button before, thats why i thought it worked that way. Then again the car i saw it in was ghetto fab, heh, the kid had a small 10 in tv and a ps2 sitting on a shelf haning from the underside of the dash... ick.

BTW, who makes these progressive controlers so it is set for different RPMs and WOT? Do they come with certain systems, or are they completly seperate? You said that you arm your system... Does that man you just have it set there from a control box or something, or do you have an actual arming switch? Is there a huge difference on how you would make the progressive control work on a carbed vehicle compared to a FI one?

Jacobs has them, aftermarket ECM's have them, NOS has them (call it a "window switch"), NX might have one.

I dont see any kits having them...

I am starting to feel sorry for O.J. the courts take all his money away and now you want to pop a cap in him.

On my car I hold it at about 2,000 rpm and at the start of the third yellow light I snap the throttle wide open, that has the nitrous on for .2 seconds before the car starts to move and gets just over 4,000 rpm out of the converter I have. ( Yank SS 3,600 )

Gee… I'm sorry that I offended you by stating the obvious.

You could have saved yourself from being the butt of jokes by doing a search, there's been plenty written about how and when to spray, ways of setting up systems, assorted controllers… I'd bet that 30 seconds of actual work on your part and you could have come up with more info on the subject then you'll ever get in this thread and would have avoided sounding like a tard to those of us that have been there, done that.

FWIW, I've used a Jacobs and a home built controller. I pretty much think that the Jacobs setup is the best thing out there for the money if you have some patience/talent with wiring. OTOH, if you're not running excessive amounts for your combination and have decent traction I wouldn't waste my time. Just run an arming switch, WOT switch and you're done.

All an arming switch is is a switch that turns the whole system on and off, run it between the positive terminal and the rest of the n2o setup.
