Twin Turbo Firebird, running!
Got everything hooked up on the junkyard twin turbo firebird, turned the motor over and tried to fire, but we've got a not good enough ground coming from the rear passenger head. Will have to redo with better wire , and better ground tomorrow.
One question, battery is mounted in rear with the umpteenth amount of wire running to the starter, what kind of batteries are you guys using with enough power to run through that wire? My stock battery just seems like it's not going to be good enough. Will post pics tomorrow of completed project before it's off to the exhaust shop.

FWIW, ive just relocated my battery to the trunk as well (also to go with a twin turbo setup) and im using a summit battery relocation kit. The kit came with 2ga. wire for both positive and ground. Of the 20' that came with the kit, i am probably using about 17' of it.
Now that the car is running again, im having some problems with losing charge in the battery when it stalls (bad tune, still working on it). I cant say what this is due to, it could be a voltage drop through too long of a wire, a bad ground to the chassis, alt problems, or possibly that my battery is old and has been sitting uncharged for many months
I'll update with more info when i check things out w/ a multimeter.

If everything is done right, you don’t really need a huge battery. My brother’s car runs the smallest automotive battery we could find (it’s barely bigger then a lawn tractor battery) in the trunk and has never had any starting problems. It’s about the size of one of those little holley batteries.
Hum, I might have a pic somewhere… Huh, I don’t have any pictures of the battery but I do of the box.

Could be. I had a single Bosch battery in mine with 1/O welding cable tied to the bottom of the car. I never had issues with the car starting. The only thing I had a problem with was a big fuel pump, water intercooler pump, water pump, high amp fan, EFI and a few other things drawing on it. I had to keep a charger handy. I probably should have used a bigger alternator. I was using a stock 87 TPI alternator. LOL

I also have my battery in the rear. I used 1ga wire and a sealed optima battry (since I didn't want any fumes in the pass compartment). Starting/charging has never been an issue.
Can't wait to see another JY TT project. Post the pics!

Firebird is now running! No ses lights, but runs really rich when stepped on. How much AE should i be taking out to make this $58 code more applicable? and which tables should i be looking at? Just one of the ae tables? or all of them?
I'm just now getting into tuning, really just looking to get this thing on the road to running right. Will post pics in a little bit, the downpipes are not done, but will be bent up, and put on tomorrow.
ANother question, does a wb02 have the ability to send both signals to my ecu, and the readout of true a/f ratio? thanks guys, you've all been a ton of help.

Most should have an external 0-5v signal for use as an ecm input, and some even have a 0-1v narrow band "simulator" for a stock ecm. Im pretty sure nearly all of them have a display on the unit or an optional display that can be added on. I know the Techedge unit has all of these features, my kit is currently somewhere between Australia and my house. I cant wait to get that thing together and get some real tuning done.

PLX Devices has a kit that has a disply for the wideband about the size of a radar detector, plus it has the narrowband output for the stock ecm.

I really like the overall layout of your turbo system. Can you explain, or show more pics of your exhaust routing? Specifically, how are your downpipes routed to rest of the exhaust, and what headers are being used (I assume custom headers)?

The downpipes drop down in front of the motor, underneath the k-member, and out right behind the front wheels for now, don't have the money right now to finish the exhaust the way i want it done. The headers from what I remember are the 55-65 chevy truck headers. They are these headers from hedman...
product 69260 from their product images..
collector was cut off from stock location, then cut down to height, and the collector welded back on, then attached to a half of a 3 inch mandrel bend from jegs on each side.
Still working out the spark advance tables,
got the rich condition under control.
The downpipes wrap quite nicely underneath the k-member on each side, will take pics when i get home.
