Add HP to 2.8

I was wondering if there is anything i can buy to add even a little horse power to my 2.8? It's Fuel injected....It's not too bad...untill I turn the AC on....after that i might as well just park it....cuz i feel like i have a lawn mower engine under here....

Head to the V6 forum for those answers....

Pacesetter headers + catback, and TomP's tuneup would be the first things to do.

Then save for the VP turbo kit

The most cost effective "mod" you can do to a 2.8 is remove it and put in a 3.4...there are tons of threads on the V6 board about this. Ked has done it several times, Redraif and I have done it, and there are many others. If you want to stay V6, trust me, this is the best thing you can do for the $. The torque gain is substantial!

If thats the case, save your money for a V8 swap. Theres nothing you can do other than maintenance type stuff, that really helps much.

Ok, a little more info...

If you're going to pull it out to put in a 3.4 you might as well blow it up first. To be completely honest, unless its on its last legs, it'll handle 75-100hp of nitrous without a problem. Spend about $500 on a universal EFI wet kit, and have fun. Just make sure you have good plugs and the cars running on all 6 cyl and let er buck.

I second the spray option, if you're gonna want to swap in the future, it won't hurt it. I also second the 3.4L swap. You'll pick up 40 ft/lbs and 25 hp (more if you do supporting mods). May not sound like much, but I think it's like a 25% power gain. The little 3.4 can really move with the right mods.
