Turbo Identification
Hey,
Can anyone identify this turbo. It's been in my dad's attic for a while and he said it was from a deseil.
Anyway here are some pics. If you need any views or measurements let me know.

How about from far enough back so you can actually see the housing? Are there any markings on the compressor housing? What are those dimensions from? Useful numbers would be the compressor wheel and turbine wheel diameters, the diameter of the wheel at the inlet on the compressor and the outlet on the turbine are the most useful (accurate numbers, pull the housings off if you have to, the housings make things somewhat deceptive).
From what I’m seeing it looks like some of the oddball turbos used on some of the older mac trucks…

What is this groove cut in the inlet? Does it go anywhere? Possibly to a second one at the side of the compressor wheel?
I’ve always wondered what the deal was with some of those housings used on mac trucks and similar turbos… interesting almost looks like it should work like the Holset “map width enhancement” if it connects to a second groove further in.
More details would help… any casting markings on the compressor side or center section?

I took pics of any marks, icons, numbers, etc from the housing. I'm back in MS from Memphis so I won't have any new info till the 15th. After that I'll dissasemble it and get the calipers after it.
Thanks

That’s cool… not trying to be a pain, just that you haven’t really given enough info for anyone to positively identify it yet, and I’m starting to get kind of curious what you actually have there.
Just post here when you get more since it will guarantee that I see it (even if I’m not browsing the forums at the time I’ll get a ‘new reply’ message)
