Single carb turbo setup questions
I have an 84 TA with the Goodwrench 350 that I have been toying around with the idea of adding a turbo to it. My question is: I have never entered the world of turbos before, but actually prefer them to a blower or nitrous. I plan on changing the heads and cam on this motor soon, but was wondering if it would be possible/sensible to fab up a single turbo setup. In single turbo applications, Ive heard to use a diesel truck unit as opposed to one off a car. Im not looking for massive gains...maybe someting in the 6-7psi range. The goodwrench block is a 4-bolt piece, with a cast crank, and cast pistons. That is why I want to keep the boost low. I do however have a pipe bender and am good with a welder, but was wondering if anybody out there has pics of a single turbo setup with a carb. I do however have to keep my CC Q-Jet and computer setup, which I read is possible in a low boost application. Just the visual appeal alone would be stunning. But what it all boils down to....is it possible? Let me know as I said, I'm new to all of this. Thanks in advance.
