turbo for 2.8L

I was hitting up eBay for 2.8L parts and I found this turbo. Doesn't specify what years of application it's for.

do you suppose that it's moreso for 3.4L or would the application be a little more all-camaro universal? thanks

Wow, that looks like a T4/T3, not a T3/T4, heh. That exhaust side is huge, and the compressor side isn't. It doesn't look optimal for anything, maybe except a large displacement low-revving diesel that doesn't run a lot of boost.

I'd say keep looking. Something along the lines of a regular T3 with a .63 a/r stage II or III turbine and a 60 trim compressor wheel would do well on a mild 2.8 (support ~300-325hp).

the 3.1T's in the TGP in '89 '90 (w-body) came with t-3's and were pretty decent, id say just find a regular T3 it should be more than enough for 2.8

So . . . I was looking for one with a .63 a/r and a .60 compression wheel

I think the bottom one is the closest to the .63 a/r and .60 compression wheel.

Thanks for the help guys. And would I need anything fabricated for this to fit in my engine?

Oh, and what other parts will I need if I do actually find one to fit my 2.8L?

That's opening a can of worms...
Building a turbo system isn't simple, but it's doable.

There is more than enough information to read on this site about turbos to last months on end. Unless you have specific questions, use the search feature please.

Jump over to the V6 forum, man. I've already done it, TechSmurf is doing his, and I'm selling kits for it. LOL!
