1000++ if you have the money and knowledge to do it. With boost and N2O you can get as much hp/tq as the internals can handle.

With a decent budget build up you can get well over 300hp, just build the bottom end strong, get the heads to flow well with a healthy cam and throw the bottle to it

I have a stock bottom end, stock heads and I am pushing over 320 engine hp with 75hp shot of nitrous.

Going to try 100hp shot this fall.

That's awesome, and gives me some hope. I have built my 305, stock crank/rods, but i've done whatever i can everywhere else, and I've been thinking of a 100-120 shot. I'm expecting 280-300 at the wheels (after tuning) when i'm done, b4 the 100 shot.

I know someone is going to flame me for my expected RWHP numbers, especially since everyone is telling me to ditch the torker II manifold. Going to run on the dyno before I swap intakes to see the difference it makes.

Even with a loss of 20% to the rear wheels ,that is still 256rwhp. (with the 75hp shot of nitrous).

I have put in a trans-go shift kit, corvette servo and synthetic fluid in the tranny and diff. So maybe the loss to the rear could be 18%? then I would be 262rwhp.

Anyone have experience with putting aluminum corvette heads on a 305 tpi?
How much more power would that be?
Could I still spray 75-100hp shot of dry nitrous?

I expect 280-300 at the wheels AFTER the 20% loss, also, 20% is only in first gear, 15% in second and "claimed" none in 3rd (1:1), of course I cant belive that there is no loss in 3rd, but if you call any knowledgable 700R4 shop, they will give the same types of numbers.

I think 280rwhp is alot to ask for in a 310ci. with no juice.

That is 350hp at the motor.

Maybe but this is what I expect, and I know is possible, the problem is getting the right combinmation. I might not have it exactly right now, but I know I can get it. I bet if I dont show 280-300 at wheels on the dyno I can swap my heads and get it. And like i said, it will take some tuning to get there.

Coworker got just under 280 with his 302 mustang, he did a lot of work like I have. He makes 397 at wheels now with supercharger.

I will post dyno results when I finally get it on the road and to the dyno.

I would love to get into it again, but just search my user name.

I have some extensive threads on the subject.

I followed the build up from Willie.

Enjoy.

280hp/350bhp with 310ci is roughly setting up that engine so all the parts are optimized for a hp peak below 5500rpm… shouldn’t be much of a problem…

I herd that 305 blocks are prone to cracking after you push a certin amout of horse power. Is this true?

never heard that before, there built the same as a 2 bolt 350 so I wouldn't see a reason why it would do that

305's are pretty tough engines stock.

If I were going for max power, I'd built a rock solid bottom end (Scat H beam rods, Scat crank, and forged pistons....on the cheap). Then I'd find the best flowing heads that would fit the 305 bore (probably the G2 TFS twisted wedge heads if you can find them). Go with about a 220-225@ .050 cam with a 112-114 lsa and good lift. THEN....boost that ***** for all it's worth .

If you're talking stock, I'd say 275 at the wheels should be pretty easy. You DO have some money, right?
