Sweet motor man. i know someone else that has those headers
just a tip. This person told me to get the headers to fit in the car you gotta cut the primaries apart and bolt them in one by one
he also told me that you can switch the collectors around to make them point certain ways
just a tip
---Question: Where does that line go from the water pump to?

Guido, thanks for the post.I didn't know the pics were so blury.Procharged, thanks for the tip on the headers,I had heard that too.I am hoping that the PA k-member helps out,my plan was to put the motor in with the headers laying in the engine compartment, and install the trans last.I am sure it is going io be a PITA.The lines off the water pump go to the back of the head to eliminate hot spots,as you may notice they are not terminated at this time(waiting on fittings).
I'll keep you guys posted on the progress, and i should have some dyno #'s soon. DonB

You are going to have to relocate your oil fiter and you are going to have to run a mini starter to clear the passenger side header
another tip: Put the headers in while the tranny is bolted up. I've been told these headers were kinda designed more for manual cars and autos are usually a little bigger...so we both might be chopping a little or banging a little, so i'd try to fit them with the tranny in, thats just my opinion
Also what are the advantages of the line to the back of the head and can it be done to any head? just curious, always trying to learn more
Thanks for the info on the trans.I do have the mini starter, but having the motor on the stand, with the headers on,I do believe I can use a standard oil filter without relocating it.Just have to deal with a little oil on the header after an oil change. As far as the coolant lines,it is used to get cool water to the back of the head.As you know on our cars, the coolant flows from the front of the motor to the back. That causes the front cylinders to be cooler,Running a line to the back of the motor lets you pump coolant to the back cylinders, which helps eliminate the hot spots. It is an old racers trick that I picked up on while at the track.I am not sure if everyone can do this,(I know lt1 guys can't)but it may be something for you to look into.If you run high boost or high compression it helps to eliminate detonation.

I would like to see those pics of the headers installed in the car.If you can, take a pic of the exhaust from under the car,and a pic of the filter relocation. Thanks For the advice.</font>

lol..the damn digi camera was out of batteries when i went there.
i should've checked before i left :shakeshead:
sorry
BUT
there is no way in hell you'll have room to run a oil filter in stock location
They tuck away real nice even with the stock k-member
The collectors fit nice too....might have to do a little banging on them to get them to fit right, but all in all the fit is great.
just remember that you can move the angle of the collector by turning it around
one last thing
13.5 compression and no collectors with those headers on a 406
ARE ****** LOUD...Big Blockish
