Homemade Octane Booster

I found this info today. Wanted to get some opinions. I priced out Toluene here in Canada. $42.10 /5Imp Gallon. (4.54 liters) I will be experimenting with a few formulas, and post the results. I figured this was the best place for this post, if not then suggest where... I think that there is really something in the info, especially for the super/turbo engines.
First link is the info.

http://www.vtr.org/maintain/gasoline-octane.html

Second is someones analysis, and some experiences.

http://home.kscable.com/ssutton/miat...e/toluene.html

There are lots of links pertaining to this info. Give me some feed back...

Daaaaaaaaaaaammmmmnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!

Sounds like you guys in Canada are getting rippppped oooofffff on toluene.

Here it is only $35 - $37 for 5 us gallons, (18.92 liters)

Whats the US/Can exchange rate?

What is the price on racing fuel there?

What is the octane & method of measure (R + M / 2?) there for premium pump gas?

Ooops... Guess I made a typo. I meant to say $42.10/ 5imp Gal (20 liter). I found a place that is $205 Can for 55 US GAL.

Well, that's much better.
You might still want to check around on the cost of unleaded racing fuel if it is available in your area. It may be cheaper than toluene. It's less than $4 us gal, 3.78 liters here. That's 100-105 octane.

yea, mixing your own works, and toluline is about 117 octane. Mix it at whatever ratio gets you what you need. Above about 10% you might have problems with some rubber hoses/o-rings and you’ll probably want to add some light machine oil to the mix (some marvel’s mystery oil). At that point it also makes your plugs pretty difficult to read

ski_dwn_it mixes tolune at 3 to 1. (3 parts gas to 1 part tolune) Its his magical mix in his 406.

tolune is also denser than gas by ~17%.

ASAIK.. he does not add any oil. But hey ask ski.. as he knows it all.
