Strut bracing ideas for turbo 3rd gen
Not TECHNICLY a power adder thread, but it only applies to turbo cars so i thought id post here in case you dont see the one in the chasis forum.
Have any of you guys comeup with some sort of strut bracing design that works around your turbo(s)?
Heres a shot of my engine bay.

Obviously I can't just run a STB across the top. What otherways could I brace them?
This was one way I thought I could add some stregth to them. Worth it? Waste of time? Should I crawl back into my box?

get a FIRST injetions TPI manifold with a side mount tb and run the intake pipe under the brace. (that is assuming the STB fits with the manifold).
not really the economical choice, but it would probably work without anything crazy or custom.

GM, they're just maybe 5/16" rod from the strut tower to the cowl and from the strut tower down to the rail… I’m not sure which cars came with them since neither my TA or formula had them but a friend’s Formula did…

Wow! Didn't even think or going that direction. Does your design involve going through the firewall and welding it all up under the dash? or ontop of everything and in the engine bay? Looks like ill race you to see who get the strut brace section done first.
And on a more personal note, I just wanted to thank you dude. Everytime i step on the load pedal and have to wrestle the car into a straight line, I think of you.

Currently the car has the custom made subframe connectors installed, now the connectors from the top of the front shock mounts has to be fab. After that the front end has to be attached since is just sitting on top of the car right now. The subframe connectors do not pass thru the firewall, I'll post some pics for you.
