What do you think about my new crazy idea

Here is my combo right now:

350 bored .040 over
SRP reverse dome pistons (forged turbo/blower)
H beam rods, forged crank, and so on
Trickflow 23* Aluminum heads, angle milled to 55cc
10:1 compression static
Hyd roller cam: 222/230 @.050" 284/292 advertised, .509/.528 lift 112lsa on 107 centerline
1 3/4" headers
Miniram manifold, 58MM throttle body

Desktop dyno thinks it's about 450HP. Not sure that I agree.

What do you think?

Thinking of adding a powedyne BD-11A blower. (6-8psi).

What do you think?

sounds bad ***. think the compression will demand race fuel? 450 hp sounds low id guess more like 550 hp.

Re: What do you think about my new crazy idea

What's the port size on the heads?
I think 430HP or so should be right as is. That cam is fairly tame. Should run just great now, peppy and all that.

I think you would need race fuel though for forced induction, unless you were thinking of converting to E-85 or something.

A blower would work best if you swapped heads to larger chambers. That way you can still run on pump gas.

1205 intake port. They're 195cc trickflows. We angle milled them to get some compression. When I had the motor in the firechicken it was a stone.
9:1 compression. Milling to 55cc brought it to 10:1. Still wasn't as fast as I'd like , even tried a cc-306 cam which was too big.

Took everything apart. went with the smaller crane cam which is similar to the SLP-51010/comp 503 cam I had good luck with in the past. Also threw out the 700R4 and swapped to a ZF6 with 11" clutch.

I was thinking e-85 in the near future. Waiting for some local stations.

On my old 355, it was 9:1 with iron heads and an S-trim. Was very fast and left a light with a 1.60 60 foot. Great car. I'm 'assuming' the 10:1 with the alum heads should respond similarly to the 9:1 iron heads.. ?

The iron heads were sportsman-II's. I think the 9:1 sportsman combo with the s-trim was faster than the 10:1 trickflow n/a combo..

i do agree that his cam is hurting the performance with those heads an would change it with or with out the blower but the hp #s seem way short to me. those heads flow very well on the exaust side so id reconsider the cam. an probally go with the bottle to keep it streetable.

Well.. I ran the cc-306 cam and it was the worst thing in the world on the street.. I have a 3.54 rear, and a 6 spd trans. The 306 cam wanted to play at 6500 and seemed to want more compression..

Re: What do you think about my new crazy idea

the reason i say that is im running the same heads minus the milling im at 9.5to1 an found on the dyno that leaveing the exaust open longer hurt the horse power my cam is straight up between those #s an im pulling a strong 400 plus at the crank. good luck

Re: What do you think about my new crazy idea

comp cams 286 286 i tried to run the longer duration on the exaust side wouldnt work. my builder told me he thought it would be worth about 50hp so i jumped to tell you the trueth i wasnt at all that but with a bunch of timing in it we got 416hp verse 396hp i pulled it back from there but. long story short im not running as much timing an the motor is alot more peppy. im not a motor pro or anything but with the parts you have seems like it should be alot more.

Re: What do you think about my new crazy idea

10:1 static and a fairly little cam it's probably not much, if any, over 450. 11:1 and a larger cam, then you could see more NA. - 10:1 is tuneable with 6-8psi and aluminum heads, especially with that type of quench. You could run meth injection for more timing friendly power.
