Have you done a compression check on your motor if not are you confident your motor is in good health? If so make sure you have good gas in the tank(93) and try running a cold plug too I've had really good sucess running autolite ar133 plugs in my 92 Formula my car is at 10* full bolt ons but I also have access to a Wideband and a Dyno if you don't keep it at 6* and spray away. Btw what kit are you using NOS's plate kit #5151 rocks on my car.

i've heard you can run stock timing on a 100 shot. So i'd keep the 6 degrees.
for a 150 you want to pull 2 degrees. basically 2 degrees for every 50 hp shot after 100.
to be safer, you can bump it down to 4.

Okay I have a wideband and i have confidence in my motor. It runs like a champ, but i wouldnt wanna chance it i guess. I also have 1 step colder plugs
I will set it to like 6 i guess. How much of a loss will i be at when i was at 10*
Also is that a tb plate for the nos setup? I need to know where i can get a cheap one.

I'm currently running 12* and mine runs great. Rule of thumb is drop approx. 2* for every 50hp shot, I think you should be fine as long as you're running a good high octane fuel. At least 93 octane, of course racing fuel would be even better

At 6* you should be fine you shouldn't of loss anything at 10* if anything you would of picked up a little power not alot though and yes my kit is for the tpi cars. You might try getting a hold of NOS I think they might even sell the plate by itself.Even in their instruction booklet it says you can run stock timming with their setup as long as you run their suggested fuel pills which are extremely rich but that is also why they say that.

you'll lose alittle torque, atleast my HSR car did. I gained 12 ftlbs at the wheels and 5-7 across the board when i advanced my timing 3 degrees from stock, and i was still lean when i did it. HP didnt gain much, maybe 1-2 at peak

Re: is 8 degrees advance too much?
okay. My next question. I herd the plate is not the greatest. IS this true? Somewhere i was hearing about how it will over shoot the first part of the intake?? Can this be possible or should i worry on a 100 shot.
Also whats a good price to offer someone for a used plate? Someone wants to sell me one here on tgo

Re: is 8 degrees advance too much?
The plate works awesome on my car my plugs never look lean my car with the HSR,Hooker 2210 Longtubes Mufflex Y, SLP 2OTL, 160*stat, Underdrive pulley
stock throttle body, Stock air intake stock internals never touched and 1.6rr put down 275/305 on the motor on the spray only 750 psi bottle pressure put down 372/425 150 shot 10.0 AFR all the way across the board. On the plate 100-125 would be a good deal nothing more cause I think they are 150 new.

Ideally idle should be 14.5-`15.0 cruise should still hover in that range WOT Na 12.5-13.0 and 11.5-11.8 on the spray WOT. Not sure who still sells the plate seperately anymore I thought NOS did. Let me find out though.

Re: is 8 degrees advance too much?
If you are running 10% ethanol fuel then you want to multiply those AFR values posted above by .96. Stoich for 10%ethanol is 14.13. Stoich for straight gas is 14.7
14.13/14.7 = .96
14.13/14.7 = .96

11.5-11.8 on nitrous seems really on the safe side to me? I hope to shoot for 12.2-12.4 to 1

OKay. I recently swapped my headers out and checked my plugs. Most of them were fine, but a couple were a little black.. Thats lean or rich? I forget all the little things. lol I am wondering if i need to worry about swapping them out. They are a 1 step lower ngk plugs with 5k on them

lol okay. seems like rich is fun stuff. What is weird is that my spark terminal on my distributor is a little white on one of the terinals. Yet no white plugs.....

Re: is 8 degrees advance too much?
distributor sees no fuel
if the terminal is white, then its getting abit corroded and that will hurt your spark so yur not getting the best burn...thus alittle rich. clean up your cap and rotor and HEI coil. That helps get better spark for better burn
