im looking to swap my ovalish v6 tb for a tpi tb. now on the v6 tb a 3inch coupler fits it.

what are u guys using for the tpi v8 throttle bodies

 

I use the 4" to 3" silicone reducer at pepboys

 

how well does it hold? ive seen some guys with oval silicon ones and i figured those would have less of a problem sliping off.

i know with the 3 inch round one on the v6 oval tb i had problems with it poping off till i welded lil nubs around the edge of the tb lip

if theres no issues with the 4inch round one ill get one of those

 

It has never popped off on me. nuff said.

 

thanks 4 inch to 3 inch reducer it is then,if i do have problems i quess i could always weld a 3/4 - 1 inch wide piece of 4inch aluminum tbing to the front of the tb

Same size and shape, but I think the ones at pepboys are only 1 ply. I used 3 ply on my first kit, it held just the same. I used worm gear hose clamps.

 

thanks yeah i used some 1 ply ones on my kit i didnt liek them those are the ones i always had issues with

so im deff gonna go withthe 3ply and t bolt clamps this time around

im swaping out my 740 intercooler for a 3inch in and out unit, the volvo was 2.5 in and out the new one is 3inch

so i ran a 2.5 from turbo to intercooler and then 2.5-3.0 on the outlet to run my intercooler to tb pipe

i have single ply coupler on the inlet side of the intercooler and the tb and they always pop off on me

im hoping going to the hks ssqv bov will also help with that since it flows alot more then the blitz knockoff im using now

 

My 4in into 3in coupler never blew off and i ran my setup for over a yr without a blowoff valve. So i wouldnt worry about it.
