I'm kicking around the option of installing a smaller blower pulley for my D1. I already have the smaller pulley and was wondering if I would be able to use my existing belt. I'm currently running the pulley that they advertise as 12 PSI, and would like to install the 16 PSI one. I'm getting 10-11 PSI right now.....due to the efficiency of the engine. Hoping to see around 13.5 PSI with the pulley swap. Hoping someone could verify whether or not I could use the same belt.

no ..im pretty sure your going to need a smaller belt ..there is only so much you can take up with adjustment ..that belt needs to be pretty tight or you will have alot of slippage

 

is that the 3.40 pulley for 12 psi and the new pully isnt from procharger is it after market your DEF gonna need a smaller belt just use your old belt as a guide and just get a couple of smaller belts just under what u have im sure your new pulley cant be much smaller then what u have

 

I'm wanting to replace the 3.70 pulley with a 3.40 one. Procharger tech says each 1/10" smaller is worth a pound of boost. The Procharger belt number that the tech guy said I need is DB645I-12. He also cross referenced the Gates Belt as part number K120645. I have been unable to find anyone locally that can get the gates belt. Where are all you guys getting your blower belts? Surely not everyone is forking out a Franklin for a blower belt. Phone numbers and/or websites greatly appreciated.

 

i believe only procharger has them ..i think gates makes them special for ati ... i too have a 12 rib setup and couldnt find anything local ...you would have better luck finding something local if we had a 6 or 8 rib

 

The 12 rib belts seem to be exclusive to procharger.

In my forum travels I have read of folks using 2 6-rib belts on the 12 rib pulleys. More of temporary solution due to availability maybe.

The smaller pulleys will need the best belts and alignment.

 

could try a heavy duty truck place some truck use big belts like that they 2-6rib belts are ok for temp. use but no 2 belts stretch the same so there is no way to keep both tight the same way

 

where did you find aftermarket procharger pulleys? i need a 4in 12 rib and been putting it off because of the price.

 

Just in case anyone searches for this, in the parts list procharger calls for a 65" belt with the 4" and 3.7" and a 64" belt with the 3.4" and 3.25" pulleys.
