EBay TT looks good
Not particular fond of the wastegate vent tube angle....but as an individual tube header design in stainless steel it's hard not to take a closer look. I will have to check the space out on our cars to see if it will fit. I haven't heard back from the vendor yet regarding fitment. I will have to email him again.

sticks em outa the hood. Quality is OK. Ive had all 3 ebay setups in my hands. Its cheap stainless and DOES RUST. not gas purged on the inside when welded. So it will be prone to cracking easier.. Brace the turbos some and you should be ok. Quality of all the setup sis decent. best bang for the bucks if on a budget and you CANT make your own setup.

Its hit or miss with the ebay turbos. Back when they 1st started to show up on the market with SS autochrome they had problems. Now I see alot of guys running them with good luck. Just be sure to check everything for metal shavings,cleared oil passages, etc. before you install.

I would say that for a compact top mount turbo kit that the other EBay manifold (cast) would be a better option as the turbos sit closer to the valve covers and probably wouldn't require cutting the hood..they are the manifolds that look like the Gale Banks SBC kit.
I am also considering fabbing up a rear mount as it would be much simpler to do.

If you look closely in that first pic of the TT kit on that red camaro, you'll notice theres no brake master cylinder on there....just the booster. Hmmmmm, fitment issues? I would never buy an ebay kit. Just make your own using cast manifolds. It's sooo much better and the fit will be how you want it!

Whitedevil and TPI383 I like what both of you guys have done to your cars...good examples of mods.
I guess in closing they manifolds at least look good but not for people that want to keep their hood, AC, other accessories.

Those ebay kits are junk. If you want glued (YES, GLUED), brittle turbo's, then waste your money...

It was actually a 10.2 in this post and another went high 10s. I can't find the 9s passes, but 10.2 is almost there. If I find the 9s pass I will post the link.
I have also seen failure pictures. These days when they fail it is usually bearing problems due to improper machining or installation.

I agree. I have Garretts, Holsets, BW. But I also have a China GT45 that I want to try out on an old 305ci. I am not saying the China turbos are the way to go. Just saying some have had good results with them.

With TTs you get to divide the exhaust energy and cfm requirements into two banks, left and right (passenger and driver). If you have 350cid engine and want to size the turbos you split the motor into two 175 cid motors or approximately 2.85 liters per side (some warrant to your statement but it's not the turbos would still work but choke off a little quicker). So think of a TT as splitting the design to accommodate 1/2 of the motor as you have a manifold and turbo per side of the engine.
The reason I posted it was to see if there were actually some installed on 3rd Gens...after seeing that the hood had to be cut significantly I realized the kit was not for me.
I am working with Turbo Technologies right now to put together an STS style turbo system but will use oval tubing on the charge side to maintain ground clearance. I know of at least one single rear mount turbo C5 that are is in the 8's. If you ever venture to the Corvette forum his username is Stealth99.

I think you need to understand the design of a TT setup better so that it makes sense to you..maybe I can help you. If you would look at the pic you would have noticed 4 ports per manifold and if you times those by two you get 8...thus a TT for a V8. The turbo is sized per size. I used a similar approach when designing and sizing the turbos for my proven 1K hp setup on my TT Z06.

I need to put a parts list together...Ebay has a cheap single turbo kit and it could be made into a rear turbo very easily.
It is worth taking a look at. I am just looking at routing and I figured I might as well go with 2.5" oval tubing vs. 2.5" round tubing for the charge side like the Ebay kit uses. The part I have to decide on is how to get it to the front as I don'e want it to go under the control arms. So it will have to make a bend and go up by the oil filter, steering shaft, and motor mounts to the front of the IC on the driver's side. Then from there I will bring the outlet of the IC straight up under where the current air filter sits in the OEM location and use a couple to hook up to the stock plastic air bridge the leads up to the TB. Should be fairly low cost.
One "good" turbo BB to help lower the low boost threshold.
V band clamps from exhaust pipe (near muffler) to turbine.
Oil scavenge pump and oil feed line
charge tubing from compressor wheel to front of car
air filter and cover
couplers
FMIC with BOV
Wastegate (Tial) and tube
48lb fuel injectors
code $59
The stock motor is 9.5:1 CR....with a good tune the motor should be able to handle 10-12lbs boost easy...not to sure how the stock tq converter is going to like it though. lol.

I have mixed feelings myself about this. I know a few guys in the Grand National world that ruined very expensive stage motors because of a very expensive turbo blowing, and although this really isn't a common occurrence, it can hit your pocket pretty hard depending on your setup. There are guys here running their little Honda's using the ebay stuff all season long, upwards of 30-psi, with blown head gaskets and broken drivetrains being the only real issue. Quality is quality, yes, but if your running almost everynight like we do, it might be in one's best interest just to test out the cheap stuff, because you'd be surprised just how long it lasts, and when it does in fact go, they are cheap replacements. Could be a blessing in disguise when you think about it, as maybe it will encourage the more expensive turbo providers to come down in price....
