Headers for GN turbo's

i really really.. really do not want to have to fab my own headers. awhile back i HELPED my buddy do his for his turbo mustang and it was a pain. i just cant seem to find any headers with the appropriate flange. is there an adapter plate i can purchase? i can find the flange itself just not an entire header. any help will be greatly appreciated.

oh and they are stock GN turbo's. 3 bolt inlet.

I did a twin turbo GN turbo setup a few years back, it blew up before I really got to lean on it. Regardless you can weld a short pipe from a typical flange to the GN flange or just build a large single turbo setup, which is done cheaply as 76mm turbos can be bought under $1000 these days and save the costs of buying double for every little piece needed.

i alreddy have the two turbo's tho. and ya thts wat i was thinking was just weld from flange to flange. bkuz ive never seen headers with them on there.

i personally did twins because i think it just looks sick. like Orr's. sticking thru the hood is just beautiful.

Re: Headers for GN turbo's

If you have or are planning on buying a set of headers, you may ask if they can do the flanges for you. Besides that I would make your own adapters even if you buy headers. The reason for this is there's a chance that the turbos won't clear something if you use those adapters. Even if you make the adapters 90% of the work is done pretty much. Another option to consider would be flipped TPI Corvette manifolds. Add an intermediate pipe and they make for easy turbo headers on these cars.

Those 3 bolt to 4 bolt adapters didn't work on GN turbos for some reason IIRC when I looked into them.

Re: Headers for GN turbo's

try to find a shop to laser cut some flanges for you. Shouldnt be much money and easy to do. Just pattern it out and let them know the thickness. 1/4" should do

best bet is to fab your own...you can do it on the cheap with simple logs

Re: Headers for GN turbo's

thats the trouble..just gotta find placement. Get the turbos in your hand and move them around the engine bay. Decide where to put them and what has to go to clear everything.

Re: Headers for GN turbo's

The flanges for the GN turbos are easy they are 2.5" header collectors. Not a problem.
