Procharger on LSX427...having gas!!!

What I have is pressure build up of pressure in the fuel tank, I run a 1000A areomotive pump, 10an from tank to pump, and out of pump to regulator I run 8an....following the stock brake line(Car is a 91 Camaro RS).
From the regulator it goes through and Y's off to 2 fuel rails with 65lb inj.
The other side of the rails(aftermarket Mast Black Label) they are connected with 8an. The return is off the bottom of the Regulator...it is set at 65 on the electric pressure gauge...the sensor for that is in the regulator too.
I have the stock relief plastic that came off the assembly for the fuel pump, I blow through it and it works. When this problem happened with the Ram Jet I altered a gas cap by drilling 1/4 in holes in it...but I want a better fix.... any ideas

The fuel lines are 2-3 inches away from the 3in to 4in exhaust... not in the full run just 2 areas and I was able to touch the fuel line and it wasn't hot to the touch..

Does your stock vent line work? There is a vent line with a pressure valve/filter on it that vents to atmosphere. That helps relieve tank pressure

Yes the tank has a stock hose that hooks to the assembly that holds the factory pump and the level indicator... I blew through the hose and the white vent valve worked

If your white relief valve is working then sounds pretty normal to me, the system will build up pressure to a point.

was wondering if I could something bigger in it to relief the pressure...
Oor 89RocZ....with your twins
I'm running the same boost with the D-1sc

Re: Procharger on LSX427...having gas!!!

me? I have a 4th gen gas tank with twin intank walbro's. It feeds a -8 line to filter then into the fuel rail, cross over to other rail then out into the regulator then -6 line back to tank. The 4th gen tank has a rear charcoal cansister. Tank vents thru that then to atmosphere. I have no other relief valves on the system. 4th gen gas cap and I dont think its a vented one. havent had any problems yet.

Re: Procharger on LSX427...having gas!!!

I guess the 4th gen tank fits good huh, does it give you more gallons of fuel?
What I've seen do you have to make a trap door for the top in the camaro
its self. I have positive pressure in the tank, also I run to a regulator first and then to the fuel rails, bottom of the reg runs back to the tank...
I'm changing it to straight from the pump to rails then back into the regulator.
thanks for the info... do you run a clutch or atuomatic

The downside to the 4th gen plastic tank is that you can't easily sump it like the earlier metal tanks.

You could add a larger diameter vent/rollover tube like a fuel cell. I run a -8 for that on my outlaw car.

Re: Procharger on LSX427...having gas!!!

Yeah not sure how you'd sump the plastic.. maybe drill it and install some kind of bulkhead fitting into the tank but the 4th gen tank doesnt have baffles so you could have starvation issues for sure.

Twin intank pumps work very well to over 1000hp, so other than being alittle more money than a big single pump, (depending if you buy a kit or build your own it may be cheaper) I dont see a need to sump a tank. Keep the 4th gen tank vent/charcoal system that works with the lsx pcm and shouldnt have any issues.

Yes I love twin in-tank fuel systems. You cant beat a pair of $80 fuel pumps that are quiet and fuel you to quite a nice level power. And you can shut one of them off below Xpsi to save wear and heat. I remember a car I bought some kind of voltage modifier, it would run the pump at 12~volts during normal driving and boost the voltage when the engine was making power. That sort of stuff can help make the pumps live longer, not to mention using a lower fuel pressure.
