Re: Need a good piston/head combo for TT set up
I know very little about forced induction but did some research to make a 305 TT and this is roughtly what I came up with:
Get a LB9 block (flat top pistons) with decent 350 heads idealy 2.02/1.60/62ish cc. This would bump the CR down with the 350's larger combustion chambers. The LB9 has an ok cam but you could get a turbo one off summit. I estimate the CR would sit at about 8-8.5:1 which is from what i've read, about right for the turbo set up I'd want. Twin T25s were the turbos i was planning on using which are obtainable from an eclipse/ gen II 300zx, and some mazdas at the picknpull.

Re: Need a good piston/head combo for TT set up
People are afraid to answer this question around here any more. If someone comes in here and says get Brand 'x', someone else will come in and bash their recommendation. Just about anything modern heads out there will perform great with forced induction. I've been through this decision making process several times in the past few months. I always come back to AFR because of:
The availability and variety of the combustion chamber sizes (still debating pistons)
Good quality valve hardware
Long term resale value - hype or not, they are easy to sell later
Proven performance (Orr on this forum runs 9's with 195's and twin turbo)
Proven reliability (I put 70k miles on some AFR 195's)
If you want to save some money you could consider ProcComp 210cc heads at less than half the price. Others have reported good results with them. I have considered taking this route as well. I'm concerned about the long term implications of using heads with cheap hardware. This car is going to be a driver and trip maker.
Since I couldn't make up my mind on the engine build, I went ahead and started a paint project instead

To many variables to honestly answer that question..... you didnt give any information on what motor you are working with, what your goals are for that motor, what fuel you are using, what your budget was, ideas for power and useage, etc
The right compression and head could be anywhere from mid 7's to 1 with an iron head for optimal performance or as high as 10-10.5 to 1 with aluminum heads for a E85 boost build or a race gas only build...
Wayyy to many options with an open question like this.
