With boost you want to go fast...first and foremost. Then you want it reliable and cheap. Build it to those specs and you will have one nice setup.

Re: engine combo for boost?
Strong parts, low compression, good heads, small-ish cam and you have a docile driving setup that will wake up on boost. Widen the ring gaps, strengthen the block. Basically all there is too it. Same as building any other motor for high power really. You want good machine work and quality parts that will handle the stresses. Ring gaps widen with boost compared to natural aspirated. Cams change alittle too. Thats a basic answer.
Getting it all the live is mostly in the tuning, but the better quality assembly/build, the better chance it will last. Machine work makes a big difference.

Here is a supercharged 600+hp "pump gas" recipe you can build.
Runs on Sunoco 94 Ultra
350 block (4 bolt prefered)
"O decked" and bored +.030.
GM or scat cast or forged crank (either is strong enough)
GM or scat 5.7" rods.
Speed pro L2441F-30 -22cc Dished pistons.
(I believe Probe has a similar piston)
As said you want to be generous on the piston ring end gaps
on this supercharged motor. Bigger is better.
AFR 195 eliminator heads (75cc chamber) #1036
Cam: Comp cams CS XR 280R-10 street roller
K-12-771-8
Weiand 177cid blower.
2.33:1 pulley drive ratio. (3" blower and 7" crank pulley)
850-950cfm HP series holley carb.
1-5/8" 1-3/4" long tube headers. 2.5"+ dual exhaust.
28-30deg spark advance at WOT under max boost.
