Getting serious with this car
... twin 35r's are gonna make alot of power. Compression seems high for a 76 cc head tho? Why the domed pistons? or is it already together?

the stock compression was a measly 8.2-1, so once i found out i had a 4 bolt block with a forged crank,i threw some upgraded rods at it,and at that point there was no point in leaving the stock cast /w 4 valve relief pistons in it
when i buttoned the motor back up i stared at the log headers i built and decided with a 90* bend on the end of each packaging a set of twins would be so friggen simple (ill post pics in a bit)
the problem i was having was making the merge for the t6 turbo inlet ,my motor has along water pump on it and with dual fans there wasnt alot of room infront of the engine
soon as my t76 turbo sells ill be purchasing the 35's and the flanges/wastegates and this install will move right along

just sold the 76 and the 50mm wastegate, twins are ordered looking at a 2-3 week timeframe till this is done

Nice, i'm actually going back to smaller snails myself. 61 or 64mm MP's now. I know the 61's will work well I'm just wondering if the 64's will leave more room to grow but offer much better spool time and performance over the 70's?

I sold my T60's for these new T70's. Both master power since my setup is build around that dimension. Now I want to sell the 70's and was thinking either master power 61's which are a touch bigger than the old 60's, or the 64's which masterpower also has.
I think 64's will be a good bet since I also may change my cam out this winter
Get a few hundred more rpm out of the setup and hopefully alot more power.

Im not that good at power adders ive always built N/A engines and i was wondering what kinda turbos and how big should i put on my camaro. the car has a 427 BBC .489 intake and .483 exhaust cam with 11 to 1 compression. I have never superchargered or turbochargered my car i need a lil help

yep, they all have same turbine and turbine housing a/r. There is a good bit of difference in spool between 60's and 70's so I have found out but my motor feels like a turd off boost when I first go WOT, so it may just be something else causing the delays.
Either way, 60-62mm stuff works well for a variety of cubes and power ranges between 600-1000whp from what I've been seeing lately. I think your 355 will do well with the GT35's.

the motor hasnt even been started yet im putting it in rite now im thinking it will redline at 7000 and the cam is 227 intake and 241 exhaust at .50 lift

that cam has a lil to much ex duration, should be about a 6* split favoring the intake side.7k in a bb? i dont see the motor reving that high and living, and i dont think it would rev that high with that cam
id go with a bw s475/488 t6 with the 1.32 housing, and like i said u would deff have to lower the compression ratio

yeah im not totallu sure on the redline it probably is like 6200 but the guy who had the motor before me said he had it all the way up to 7 before i got it, he had a different cam and heads to though but the bottom end was almost the same, i went through the motor after i got it got all new bearings had the crank checked and turned. it turns out that every thing i have is all forged to.

well the turbos they sent me are not t4 50 trims.
looks lke they shipped me a pair of 57 or 60 trims,not that im complaining lol
anyways ill get some pics up but first im oin to get the compressor covers off and mesure the wheels and see if they sent me 57's or 60's

lmao i woke up at 430 am today and started workin on the car by 5,anyways i didnt think it would be so dam hard to get the turbos on so it looks symmetrical.
its my fault since i built the headers without the turbos and didnt take into acocunt he offset of the turbine side.
trying to keep my ocd from kicking in and just mounting them as is but it puts one turbo about 1 inch further out from the center of the motor then the other grrrr

yeah twins were easier to package , downpipes will be 2.5 inch into the factory ypipe for now since the car has a 3inch catback on it already. once i order up some more tubbing im going to do 2.5 inch downpipes to just under the firewall were they will goto 3 inch duels dumped infront of the rear axle. ill be using bullet mufflers on the car since they are legal here.

yup 4 bolt main,good crank good rods and good pistons, so i definatly have a solid platform, down the road i will eventually bolt on a set of 210 cc afrs and a vic jr ( when i decide 9's arent fast enough lmao)
right now im working on a deal to pick up a 2004r with a transbrake for the car, if that falls threw ill be getting a 4l80e with a reverse manual vb so i dont need a computer to run it. overdrive is a must for this car the speedlimits out here are 80mph and i typically hell everyone typically crusises at 85-90

I got loads of updates coming w/those videos, and I got everything needed to make the conversion for boost to happen in a few hours, so once the headers are done, and when they arrive of course, she'll finally be completed (can't believe it's been a year since I began with this project). The stock stall was garbage with that cam, but she trapped well with it off the power brake. Once the 3500 stall went in, what a freaking difference....

driver side is done now working on pass side,just needs some final welding on ds.

need to move the passenger side turbo foward and to the left a tiny bit to make it symmetrical but here it is.
also have to finial my wastegate placement and weld these on but im getting alot done today

with the rain this is how i ended up finishing out the day



tommorow i will finish up mounting the wastegates and plumb them back into the downpipes,and then just a lil finish up welding on the headers and the hotside will be 100% complete
the downpipes run into a 2.5 inch ypipe which were the 2 sides merge becomes 3 inch all the way back out to the muffler with dual 2.5 inch tail pipes
this is only temporary as once i get some new tubing and 2 bullet muflers the car will be getting dual 3 inch ex with turnouts infront of the rear tires

Dave, it's looking and coming out really sweet. Can you post a picture of the turbo headers on the engine without the turbo's on them, I want to see how high the flange is on the header in relation to the valve cover, as well as how they are clocked. Thanks bro....

the flange is valvcover height on ds if it stops raining today ill remove the turbos and take some pics for ya .
ps is same except flange is rotated more 2 th side
ps is 45* from the top of the tube

no real progress but i did start some body work
i ot rid of the firebird spoiler and installed a non 3rdbrake light 3 piece spoiler
had 2 drill 2 new holes in the decklid and had 2 move the holes back on the tops of the side peices to get them to sit right
i need to do a lil more fitting and realign the hatch so it sits right
im also debating on a satin black paint job for the car
anyways tommrow i am going to pick up some supplies to sand and prime the whole car i hate body work but luckily thre is only one minor minor dent in the ds rear quarter panel
hell the doors dont even sag on this car

lol thats what im cuttin all my tubing , the only reason i had to drill new holes is because the car was supposed to have a 3rd brakeliht spoiler

no im oing to have both charge pipes go twards the passengerside and then merge into a single 3 inch pipe in the fender and go down and under to the inercooler
dual 2 inch pipes fit riht over the top of the battery down into the fender
