rebuilding 350 not to sure on hp

OK so I'm going from a 305 tbi boat anchor to a 350 block I got out of a 90 z71 truck. Comes stock with 200 HP. The cylinder walls have some surface rust but not bad. So I want to put a lunati voodoo can .489 lift edelbrock performer intake. I want to get around 300-350 HP. What else should I do.

im using this cam on a 355 with 9.4 compression. the cam part number is 60103 if its the one you are thinking of. im using vortec heads and a jegs 331 intake(same thing as performer rpm) and a holley 650 carb. this set up is 375 to 400 hp. enough to run low to mid 12s. just something to look into. its a very cheap set up. top end kit from jegs is 850

Re: rebuilding 350 not to sure on hp

You can run low to mid 12's with 375-400hp in a 3rd gen? That's a little optimistic but I would say very high 12's are possible. For 350hp? VORTEC HEADS and matching intake. Best bang for the buck. You can't go wrong. Camshaft in the range of 210-220 duration at .050 would be a great mild combo. Keep in mind with stock vortecs you may need to swap valve springs depending on cam.

Yes you can get mid to low 12s in a 3300lb car with 375 to 400 hp with optimal gearing, converter, and tire
