stock gm rods w/wavelocs or h beams?

im in the middle of buying parts for my motor build and im trying to save money where i can without sacrificing peace of mind.

the car will be well over 600 flywheel hp.

do i use the stock rods with arp wavelocs or do i spend the extra couple hundred and get eagle h beams?

$65 vs 126 vs $400?

is the 190,000psi enough or would the 220,000 be more suitable?

off boost the car will most likely be a dog and will only see stress for short bursts on the street and the occasional trip to the track.

Re: stock gm rods w/wavelocs or h beams?

how high do u plan on reving the engine ?

if ur keeping the rpms fairly low say 5,500-6k max id trust the stock rods with good bolts
as long as the stock rods are properly resized ,maganafluxed and stresss relived

byt the time u pay for all that ur prolly at half the cost of a decent set of aftermarket rods

btw stock reworked rods with arp wavelocks is what i have in my twin turbo iroc engine ( the old engine) and i trusted those to 23 psi and 50 shot of nitrous .

i limited rpms to 5,800 though

be sure to take into account the cost of the crank abd pistons u are using u dont wanna cheap out by 200 ucks and have the cheap parts ruin the more exspensive ones

use factory pistons then or buy a set of speedpros for 1/2 the cost speedpro forged are dirt cheap.

top ring gap and tune are key to making cast pistons survive, cheap speedpro forged pistons will hold up just fine

Iron motown 220s, theyre 64cc chambers. If i can find some that are closer to 8:1 id go that route
