True, but hopefully the GTA will keep me from going crazy with the Corvette long enough to just sell the Corvette, and buy something else. For awhile I was considering an LT5 swap, then I considered a 454-SBC under those LT1 heads and intake until I decided on the Procharger. Tired of going backwards with GM performance cars in terms of years though, would like to get my hands on something new for a change and just be done with building cars, for a little while lol. Was looking at another Grand National but those cars are money pits, especially if you buy one stock. My buddy Murph has over sixty thousand in his White T-Type, and I don't think he will ever recoup that expense, in fact I know he won't.

Not familiar with the 0411 swap, please delve a little further into it Joe...
http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...ams-Tuner-Info!

The 0411 is found on LS1 and various truck models, very capable PCM from what I understand. Since im always flat broke I cant afford to buy one and install it, my knowledge is limited.

And if congress cant unbunch their panties, I probably wont even receive a paycheck next month. LOL

Oh no, not you too lol....

Will have updates as soon as I can, way too much going on at the moment and the Corvette threw everything off. Can't DIY this PCM, might have to drop a grand towards Ida Automotive to tune the LT1 with the Procharger. Will try to wrap up the turbo GTA as soon as I can. Would be nice to see other builds run some numbers though; Justin, Dave, Dave, and a few others in this forum, as it would give me the incentive to get this freaking thing done lol. Come on fella's, come on with it, whaddya got, lets see some numbers, gimme a push lol...

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

So much for my ThirdGen.org brethren giving me a push, had to get the needed incentive from my Grand National brethren instead lol. Went to the track late last Wednesday night and met up with some buddies, and one of them ran his first 9 second pass with a much smaller turbo than I am running, not to mention two less cylinders, and much more vehicle weight (see below for the video I took of it). That was the push I needed to bang out the GTA, cuz its time to show those Buick guys how its really done...

Downpipe is done, Wideband O2 sensor bung is in, time to get this fawker finished...

Edit: next time someone asks "damn what u got under the hood " b like " just a little 305 with a really big air conditioner" lol

Good eyes! We'll see what happens, as I was having this debate with the XFI guys as well. They're (XFI) O2 sensors are made to withstand the excessive heat, whereas the Bosch sensor type are recommended to be at least 30" - 36" away from the turbo. If the sensor goes, I'll slap the NB in that spot because the EBL-P4 can switch back and forth, as well as relocate a new wideband down by the catalytic converter location. Converter is hallowed btw. Agreed about the big AC compressor, as my neighbor who is into muscle cars has no idea what she is looking at when she wanders over to look, and that is exactly what I tell her, it's the air conditioning lol...

Plenty of fast cars on this website, I'm just referring to the turbo builds in this thread. They all seem MIA at the moment. Justin is getting it done, and I am looking forward to his progress, but everyone else has been slacking, including me. Sometimes a trip to the track will do the trick, as well as someone posting up a recent video of their turbo build. As for not having anything fast enough, what the heck are you waiting for, build something already...

Of course the ac works! Or else I'd have the turbo in the spot like street lethal does! I want it to spool up quicker though

Oh my goodness, Taylor made a video just for me to get my lazy @ss in gear lol. That was awesome, and so is your build, very tastefully done! I thought about keeping the A/C too at one point, but then I talked myself out of it. I like what you did with your setup, I especially like the Holley Stealth Ram. Excellent work....!

I just got home a few minutes ago, and I must say that the videos actually did inspire me. Gonna have something to eat, then attack the coldside tonight in the garage, and then she is done...

Thanks tony and street! That means alot there is alot of work me and my girlfriend put into this. We're going to the track Saturday since I got the m/t street radials hopefully that'll help my 60ft and overall time. Good luck on getting the cold side done! I must be doing something really wrong if your 305 is supposed to run 12s na. I'm running 12s boosted :/ I can't wait for updates on yours!

Throw up a time slip when you can, then we'll look at the tune to see your fuel. It is very easy to dissect why your only in the 12's with the turbo looking at your boost pressure, fueling, trap as well as your gain at the top end from the 1/8th to 1/4 mile...

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

Got a few PM's about the Corvette, asking about some details and if its for sale. Rather than start a whole new thread on another forum, I'll just answer them here. 90,000 miles, bone stock engine, 17" ZR1 rims, MT 315 ET Streets out back, 275 G-Force up front (all brand new). Looks like it has a catback, but not too sure. Sounds sweet as hell though. D1SC is going in as I write this, and will be tuned by Brian from PCMforless as that is the only option other than installing an entirely different PCM, which I will not do. Only other mod will be a stall speed converter. Will not let go for anything under fifteen grand with the D1SC, Rims w/tires and stall.

Thanks...

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

Intercooler is in, also went with a giant K&N filter. Just need to get my hands on some 4" aluminum oval tubing to run from one end of the Intercooler to the throttle body. Just need it to be oval from the throttle body until it passes the radiator, then switch back to circular. Here is a pic from a few nights ago, sorry for it being dark, I took it two o'clock in the morning in my garage. Slowly but surely lol...

Your sixty foot is killing you. Your trapping 90-mph at the 1/8th, then picking up 25-mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4 mile, and trapping 115-mph overall. Your top end is on the money, a pickup of 25-mph is excellent. However like you pointed out your sixty foot is killing you. Every tenth in the sixty foot is approximately 2-3 tenths in ET at the 1/4 mile mark. You need a better stall, and you need to learn how to flash the converter properly if auto. With a stick though, it gets to be a very delicate situation when you launch. You should be mid elevens with a good launch, and low elevens with a great launch. Congrats, that is an excellent trap speed... how much boost pressure?

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

Yeah I know my 60ft is terrible! I only had two runs last night on those street slicks and first run I did the burnout in first didn't get the tires hot enough second run I did the burnout in second. It hooked well but my rpm was so low it like bogged the motor down :/ the car actually has the stock t5 in it for now and isn't an auto. I'm glad to know my mpg is good! I was seeing guys last night run a 10.72 with that mph. And the car was running 7.5 psi of boost

Hmm, competition is getting there little by little again I see...

Coated the downpipe through a good friend, narrowband is up top, wideband is down low...

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

To reiterate the downpipe is 3", and I welded a v-band flange on the bottom too for easy removal when doing spark plug changes. Still need to fab up a 3" tube with electric cutout leading to the 3" Catco Converter. Downpipe goes in and out with ease from up top...

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

Now, here is a picture from when I first got the Intercooler. Since this pic I have had the intake piping hooked up, but I do not trust the brackets that I used to hold the Intercooler in place. Long story short, I am in the middle of fabbing up a lower support bracket similar to the radiator support to act as a cradle for the Intercooler...

Looking nice Rob

Which gate is that? A mini one right? How large did you go? Im looking to get a 44mm mini so that i can fit it where i need to but didn't know how the minis control boost compared to a normal size. My placement is about as close to the turbo as you went and it make me curious if it will work as I intend it to.

Would a supercharged TPI build help you get motivated?

Just ran a 6.84 at over 103 with a 6-speed!

I originally wanted at a minimum a 46mm wastegate, but I settled for a 44mm wastegate. When I first installed it, I drove around town to test boost with a 5-psi spring and it didn't rise above that, which was good. However, this test was before the stall converter being installed, so building boost wasn't as grand. I think it will be okay in terms of any boost creep, as well as any heat issues from being too close to the downpipe. I'm also running an EGT gauge to help dial it in the way I want it as well...

Bro, you need to fab up an exhaust, that thing sounds like the crank is ready to fall out with just a hint of turbo spool. Get the wife to hold the camera and give us a nice pull from outside the car...

Re: Chronicles of a 9 Second 305 Trans Am...

I need to run the intake tubing a little differently than I had it set up for. The battery needs to go in the trunk, that is for sure. I already ordered a relocation kit to do that. The Intercooler is supported properly from underneath, it won't budge now...
