Weird Question?
Today I was finishing up install the air fuel gauge and boost gauge and I too the car for a spin I now it was running lean..today I got on it a little and it was reading better ...last time is was like 16 lean!! today same amount of gas didn't change anything is was 13 not great but better Does these cars lean and make adjustments? I have the FPR set at 52-55 with vac hose off...Now I just bought an FMU which im going to install soon once I get it...Now should I lower the FP bac to 42-44 psi???

Re: Weird Question?
There is a threshold point you cross with the throttle that kicks in power enrichment, might have something to do with that. Anything out of power enrichment the car will correct its fuel trim up to a certain point, but when in power enrichment it only goes by what the gm guys programmed in. For your fuel pressure I would set it back to 42-44 and tune with the FMU unit. I have never worked with a FMU unit myself but I imagine you'll need 60-80 psi, also you might need a new fuel pump if you haven't already put one in.

Re: Weird Question?
I have a high pressure walbro 255 lph pump for boosted applications...and a new south bay fuel injection FPR yes i will set it back to 42-44 psi i was thinking thats the best thing to do...also the car has new Bosch-3 injectors too...I just bought an ATI fmu thats adjustable so that with the Air fuel gauge i think i can get it safe at least not the best way of doing it but safe until i can get a tune....

Re: Weird Question?
Well your pretty much on your own for getting a tune, no one really works on these older gm computers but I think you'll be alright with the FMU, just make sure your timing is set back some. How much boost does it make anyways?

Re: Weird Question?
I have the timing set a 6 degrees i have one step colder plugs gapped down to .032...we run 93 octane...The blower was upgraded by paradise wheels they said between 6-8 psi...havent hit it yet..due to it running lean...i have seen 4 psi really quick but let off....Also i will be installing a snow performance stage 2 meth kit...I run one in my Turbo Fox body it works great,...

Re: Weird Question?
Well if you install a meth kit you could keep the timing where its at I imagine but until then I would knock it back to 2* to be safe. You might want to get a scan tool, then you can see what the car is doing for timing and fuel trims. The program is free from tunerpro http://www.tunerpro.net/ and the cable you can get here from moates http://www.moates.net/aldu1-and-cabl....html?cPath=64

Re: Weird Question?
I only use TunerPro now but it's more then just a scan tool, it's also for editing a bin that you burn to your chip. Anyways you need the main program then download the definitions for 8D to use with your car.
