Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
If Dave's car still maintains the factory TPI harness (correct if I am wrong Dave, as I remember your car coming with a carburetor but was originally Tuned Port Injection), if he didn't butcher it, then I would say go EBL Flash for sure. Megasquirt has a lot of users out there, but only a handful on this website that were successful with it. I think the ratio of EBL users here is much higher in comparison. Lot of ways to go though, I mean there are even classic FAST systems out there for extremely cheap that work hand in hand with the GM distributor. To be honest, at the rate he is going, he should just go blow-thru carb and call it a day, this way he can at least enjoy whatever is left of the season...

Absolutely, but let's be fair - the majority of our members also have problems installing headers, setting timing, "passing smog", etc. We don't exactly have the same membership that we used to. Heck, even some of our moderators have not logged in in months (or years).
I've recommend EBL to a number of people over the years because I know even if they had an IQ under 60, RBob would work with them and get them up and running.
Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
i dont have a stock harness on my car , when i got the car somone took bolt cutters and cut the harness in half by the heater box when they did the carb swap , i put the tpi back on it but went right to ms
the ms isnt a bad system , i bought a used unit that wasnt assembled properly , when i tried to fix it i missed a few things myself and thats were my issues came from
i was just going to buy a new diyautotune assembled unit , but if im going to spend 4-500 bucks i may as well justs pend a lilmore and try one of the other systems i havent tried before
heres a picture from the other day so u guys know im not slacking
Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
Geesh, you know how to get the MS going, but you're considering a change before you even get the motor broke in? No one can say you aren't scared to tackle something new.
Grab an assembled MS and get it running.! I want to see what this thing will do.

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale

god i hate to even say it since the last planned outing was halted due to my ecm issue sometimes i think this car is cursed lol
my next planned outing is nov 14th i have my fingers crossed we will make it i have other projects im working on along with the car so my time is split up between then
the good news is there is racing here year round except for the month of december so if i dont make the next one the next race would be in january
that being said i am focusing most of my time on the car right now , and as it sits im just waiting on replacement injector drivers for my ecm from diyautotune which shipped out today with 2 day delivery , other then that i need to yank the rear apart and install my longer arp wheel studs and then shes ready to go
Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
buttoning up the electrical and fuel system tonight, ecm parts are sitting in my po box to late to pick them up tonight , so ill grab them in the morning and get my ecm fixed .
only hurdle left to get over is a trailer to tow the car to the track with , was going to use a friends but they are going racing too , that leaves the 5th wheel flatbed farm trailer but i dont think i can get my car on that trailer unless u build like 10ft long ramps

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
Damn bro I've been gone for awhile, was hoping to see you lay the smack down on someone before I got back. Glad to hear that I'll be around just in time for the first official startup...

plan is to hit the track next weekend, ive got the rear end torn apart atm but that wont take long to put back together , and ive got to finish the wiring/guages inside the car
Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
its not to rich on cold start , actually not as bad as the actual first start that i did were it just smoked black , but hard to tell as i had the ideband out of it till all the oil and grease had burnt out of all the new tubing
i think the echo in the shop makes it sound a lil worse then it really is as well
cam is installed +4 so its going to be a lil rougher then normal as well

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
Yeah it's rich, but shouldn't surprise you Dave. Did you tune it, or just running a base code? No O2 correction in Open Loop, open downpipe right where the camera is filming, and an enclosed garage. That's going to effect the sound. It's sounds very crisp to me though, but I can see how it would be mistaken for running rough. How much vacuum are you pulling in idle?

old tune from the same motor with twins/different cam , but now that my ecm can prperly control my injectors ive got a bunch to do again to make it right , ill get it closer this week when i get the rear end together and can roll the car out the shop door m so i dont have to run it inside
dont know how much vacum none of the gauges inside the car are plumbed yet , and i wasnt paying attention to tuner studio as i wanted to make sure we had no leaks or obvious problems at first, i did find a small fual leak that i need to take care of at one of the fittings

Was a typo, quoted him saying he installed it +4, but wrote retarding w/advancing effects.

This is why I didn't agree with it. I advanced my cam to take advantage of the Tuned Port Injection intake, smaller valves, lower stall, and lower RPM ability. I needed to enhance my torque curve. You are running a big turbo, better flowing heads, better flowing intake, and much higher stall, which would negatively impact your setup if you advanced the cam. Just set it straight up for the time being...
