I ran the turboXS manual one too on my first twin setup and my remote turbo 305. Works good for the first couple turns, usually 1 psi per turn. 3-4 turns is safe. After that sneak up on it. Half turn may start to get 1-2 psi

~ 560 retail for the boost leash. Its a pretty good deal. The AMS 500 V2 is 750 but is similar in that its graph based vs time
i have the V1 AMS 500 which is 450$ and it has adjustable ramp rate of boost psi per second and two stages, but only 1 stage uses the ramp rate
its simple and does seem to work but hard to tell how well the ramp works. I like setting it up for launch boost that you engage on a trans brake and on release of brake it will enter your second stage which will be your max target boost with ramp rate
on the street you can cruise around on gate spring boost and when you need big boost, put the second stage on a switch, so its always available if you need it

I going to be using a Holley Hp for my nitrous controller, yes I know its not the same.
But it also controls timing and datalogs.
And wasn't that much more expensive than buying all the components together

Re: Boost Controllers... Opinions Wanted
fifteen turbo cars and I always use greddy profec B spec-ii
Units are $150~200 used
it is very basic open loop controller, and also powerful (start boost)
however there are much more powerful high frequency drivers available with better control and even closed loop available. Honestly these days you want the ECU to do this job so it can both monitor and control boost.

Re: Boost Controllers... Opinions Wanted
Looks like it could work well enough. Single solenoid for increasing boost i guess, no secondary solenoid for decreasing supply so your control may not be as good or accurate as a two solenoid deal. But for the money it seems sufficient

I use a midget. Wrap him up in some heat shielding, give him a pair of gloves, and pay him in free beer. IT's cheap, easy, and the little dude does a good job.

For the price, I also went with the G-force 2. Its very simple to setup, save 6 presets and scramble.Im considering selling mine for the new version that has boostcut safety from wideband o2. For anyone looking for a affordable ebc with very easy display setup then I highly recommend these.Plus..the customer service is outstanding.

Re: Boost Controllers... Opinions Wanted
Ran a ball and spring style manual boost controller for a few years in two of my cars. Worked great. Much quicker spool than just running a stiffer WG spring. The advantage being the WG doesn't even start cracking open until right at your boost set point. Now both are running GM boost control solenoids controlled directly with a Megasquirt ECU. No experience with stand alone electronic controllers. Ha, I know I shouldn't have even chimed in!
