I don't really know where to post all of this but here it goes. While I was working on this I had a hard time finding info on these blowers fitting in these cars.

82 trans am w a zz430 clone, edelbrock pro Flo xt and a torque storm blower.

Hyper pistons
pm rods
forged crank
lt4 hot cam kit/roller rockers
fast burn heads w 9.6 cr
pro Flo 60lb injectors
aeromotive 340 l/hr 6an feed/return
ram concept 10.5 dual disk
magnum f close ratio
moser 9 w 4.11
dons header to a 3.5 exhaust.

The blower was putting out 8lbs of boost, and the custom IC kept my IATs @93 deg and it was 98 deg outside.

468hp/467tq to the wheels. The tuners and guys running the shop estimated 18 loss w my drivetrain. So all in all I'm really happy. The car rips! Driving around backroads moderately aggressively in 95 deg weather the hottest the engine got was 200 deg. This is w a bunch of tire roasting burnouts.

PS: it all fits under the stock TA hood. The blower sits up in the power bulge.

Re: Finally tuned!
air filter sits right up in the cowl.

This is a spintech 3.5 to dual 3

Re: Finally tuned!
Dude, it's soooo fun. I thought it was fun 20 yrs ago w the zz4. This is so much more fun and runs so well now that it's tuned. The base edelbrock tune was 370hp. That was my first run. We did 5 in total. It's interesting, the zz430 was rated at 430 hp and torque. The blower kept the hp/torque even.

Re: Finally tuned!
Very nice setup. I'm impressed that you were able to get the air filter up into a constructive place.

The Procharger setup pulls air from right above the header. And with the master cylinder right in the way, I don't know that it would be possible to get to the cowl opening.

yeah, to be honest, the edelbrock base tunes are super safe. The last the biggest gains were from adding in 1 deg of timing after 2 pulls.

I have a friend who's a brilliant fabricator. He made the intake and all the piping as well as the IC. The air filter has pretty good clearance from the engine and is far away from the headers.

Re: Finally tuned!
Congrats sounds cool. The boost is addictive. for sure. I've got an HSR with EBL flash behind my turbos but that Edelbrock Pro Flo keeps catching my eye...

Re: Finally tuned!
I've had 2 pro Flo setups and they've been great. I have a few friends w them and they've been super happy w them. The guys that tuned my car both said they've tuned a bunch of systems and really like the adjustability of the pro Flo setups. My current system wasn't set up for forced induction but I was able to get all the stuff make the change. It's cool, the sensors are mostly GM parts and easy to get. You can get edelbrock stuff but it all is just repackaged/labeled Gm stuff, attest sensor wise.

What brand are your subframe connectors?
I have the same on my car.

Re: Finally tuned!
The inboards are modified Alstons and the outboard I think are competition engineering weld on ones. I put them on 25 yrs ago so I may be wrong on the brand. They're either CE or were JEGS. I'm almost Positive they're CE just not 100%. I stitch welded them to the pinch welds and to the floors/rockers as well as the front unibody supports and trailing arm supports.

Re: Finally tuned!
Love that setup. How is lag with that long of intercooler piping? Any more detailed pics of intercooler setup? I'd love to see you toss that spin tech muffler. I switched from. Spin tech to dynatech and had big gains NA. I wanted to do air yo water to limit pipe length (vortech t trim) but if yours works good, maybe ill go air to air.

Great build

Re: Finally tuned!

here's an ic pic. It goes up to the hood latch almost. The fabricator made the ic the new support for that area vs the little stamped triangular piece. I re-did the lower air dam so it sits under the radiator now. The way it was in the pic my coolant temps were hitting 200. Now they bounce between 185-190. If I'm on it a little my IATs are 91-93 deg. Just cruising w no boost they sit at 95-97. There's really no lag. The engine made a ton of power pre blower. The lt4 cam likes to rev so it's never been an off idle beast. I have a close ratio t56 and 4:10s, it's just rips. It's harder to build boost in the lower gears, it just takes off. There's a balance between reckless driving and seeing what it can do! Once I'm in higher gears it's really pulls hard. It's a total blast. I only have 500 miles on it at this point. At some point I feel like I feel like I'll need to get it on a track to really open it up. It's just fast as hell.

I thought about different mufflers. The truth is, I was so happy w the dyno numbers I'm content where it is. At least for now.

Re: Finally tuned!
Run the ice pipes through battery and air box tray or through the fender?

Re: Finally tuned!
The battery trays (area) on both sides. And the battery is still in the stock spot. It all just fit really well.

Re: Finally tuned!
I have a little more room than you DT no AC or smog stuff but there's easily enough room between my rad and IC to fit a condenser. Cooling it all may be a deal! I have 2 spal HD fans.

the pipe by my battery passes the a hole cut between the frame horn, wheel well and battery. The only material cut was the battery tray. There's a little "unused" area there. All of this fits under my stock 82 TA hood. The air filter sits up in the power bulge.

Re: Finally tuned!
Excellent. Thank you. I was worried about lag with that much piping. Im Higher compression though. And i think should be 14-16 psi. Mitigate the lag.

Re: Finally tuned!
Yeah, totally no issues w lag. The torquestorm blowers are designed to have lower boost and move lots of air fast. It does do that well. I couldn't imagine a super charger having a ton of lag like a turbo, they're always moving a lot of air.
I thought about an air to water setup. The fabricator who did the piping works w 2-3000 hp drag cars usually was like no, it's a waste of time w this HP range. He also felt like a more simple setup would be more reliable. He did laugh at my blower though. He picked it up in one hand and called it a baby blower! He totally steered me in the right direction despite my baby blower!
