Yeah it is the p600b, and yes the Belt is a 12 rib. I had a problem with belt slip initially but then found it to be that the billet aluminum bracket was flexing under boost. I no longer run a 12 rib belt. two 6" belts...cheaper

have been thinking of having a similar thickness sheet of steel (hopefully chromoly) hydro cut (from vegas) duplicating the stock bracket to stop flex, it may be expensive but it could be peace of mind, whatta ya think?

Yea give us some more details. 127mph is crazy mph. I had 120 this season and went 11.28 @ 120 with a 1.59 60'. My blet was slipping and only got around 5psi of boost. (had a vortech)

If you are running 127 mph, thats good for deep in the 10's.

Sponsored by MAC?? Howd you pull that off?

11.28 at 5psi is sweet......I was running 17lbs, and was giving the intercooler a small 50 shot for the first 60'..... I am sure the car will go deep in the tens...As I said, my trans was messed up and would not shift into third....it was one thousand one, one thousand and into third it went. And the whole sponserd by Mac thing, well my father knows the Owner, and well when I ordered some stuff from them the owner saw my car at the shop and was like thats one clean *** car, whats done to it....Then we showed him and he was like if we give you a bunch of **** will you let us use your car for shows and at race events.....Well, when someone says "GIVE" whats your reply.....HELL YEA... So that is basically that. Basically I have a lot of good contacts... I had Dave Lair of Heads Up do my Heads, he is one of the best head guys around here, and my Cam was designed by my dad's friend who worked for Competition Cams, who is now chief Engineer at Delphi. And a guy who works for my father, is in tight with Superior Transmissions and is a TCI dealor so......Basically if I didn't know a lot of people I would not have been able to build this car......Ah yeah free Turbo blue is the ****....

ProChrgdTa,

First off, welcome to our little corner of the world otherwise known as thirdgen.org.

You've got one nice looking ride there. Did it originally come with striping just above the silver rockers?

I didn't see your CID listed in your signature. How many of these do you have? Also, I'd like to know your blower pulley diameters so I can calculate your compressor rpm's. And at what engine rpm do you shift? I'm curious to know how fast your compressor is turning in order to produce 17-psig.

On the topic of bracket flex, ATI has solved this with an additional brace. I do not know if it's been incorporated into their kits yet. Maniacc and I have it but don't know if anyone else does. The ATI brace runs from this location, between the alternator and compressor and is bolted to the main bracket with two bolts.

17psig isn't too bad Just a couple of queries. How many cubes does the engine have, what compression ratio are you running and what octane rating is that turbo blue gas?

Also, got any videos of this thing in motion?

Regards

-Yes, I am from the Dayton area,
-350 cubes
-Blower diameter not sure of, was made by a company that ATI recommended when the bearing went out of the factory one. Shift at 5,500
- The silver is from the factory....It isn't a GTA..

What striping??

All Trans Ams I know of with accenting colored rockers (like yours) originally came with a "dot" matrix striping placed directly above the rockers. The dots were very dense at the bottom and very spaced at the top, giving the illusion of a "fading" stripe (for lack of a better term) -- It "fades" from body color at the top to silver at the bottom.

..how many what did I have??? Sorry not to be rude, just confused what you are talking about

My sentence preceding "how many do you have" explains it. I was inquiring how many CID's you have -- Cubic Inch Displacement. But I see you've already answered the question.

Welcome, that is one AWSOME Trans Am. Do you have any dyno numbers, how about video's? What are your 60ft times? What are the specs on your heads and cam? What is your friend's setup that he runs mid-12's at 125mph?

Hehe, nope I don't know you just several things that pointed to but not exclusive to the Dayton area...

1) Forgeline...an outgrowth of Wheel Source
2) Heads Up
3) the only place I know to get Turbo Blue was around here, but the Mom and Pop place in Beavercreek no longer has it.
4) Delphi...Dayton was once the world headquarters (delco)

Hope to see you around at Dorothy/Woodman..cheers, Bob

AHHHHH....The Good old days of Woodamn....It use to be so much fun at the old Contractors Warehouse before they got pissed about people parking a littering in the parking lot....The Street racing use to be great there. Do you ever go to Middletown??? If so watch out for the cops. If you even have a healthy sounding exhaust, they are more then willing to give you a ticket for cruising. One night my buddy (10 sec Grand National) and I were going to get something to eat and pulled into a parking lot to discuss were to eat, either BW3's or Fricker's and the cop was more then happy to pull "Me" over take my license and put me on a cruising list (Basically a warning) and didn't even say a thing to my friend. It is a crock, but oh well. Where does everybody cruise these days? I was pretty much out of the scene last year do to baseball and work.. Well hope to see you this spring/summer.

All he had was 3:73 gear, Some Comp blower cam, and a D1 with a 3 core. I was wicked till it went "POP". My 60' times are in the 1.6, and sorry I have neither dyno numbers or videos. Will have Dyno Numbers by April 26. There is some big Supra meet then and a local guy with a dyno is giving some big group discount on pulls.. I talked to some guys and they said they would be more then happy to see what kinda of numbers an old school Trans Am can put up....Should be plenty of Street Racing.....Probably most Supras think 88 TA's are 15 sec cars...LOL

I have heard about Hillsboro....I heard it was nothing but 4x4's and cherry bomb exhausts....Is there some pretty good racing out there? Only thing that sucks about Hillsboro is that fact if you break something........ Which seems to always happen...LOL

Sorry for the late reply....I am running the Turbo Blue leaded... I do not recommend so if you are running O2 Sensors. I do, but I have a buddy in the parts business who allows me to box them up and he sends them back as defective. Does anybody have a picture of the new bracket piece that attaches to the alternator? If so could you hook me up??? Thanks

Wow, it's cool that there are so many other people on this board that live close to me. I'm up in Piqua, OH. I'd love to see some of your rides in person.
