How much boost ? OEM block/crank

I want to buy an ATI with intercooler. I am running about 9.2 to 1 compression.Heard different things about how much boost the block and crank from an 89 L98 can take. The crank has been micropolished and magged.Block has been decked, magged and bored .030.The rest of my mods are below.Any help greatly appreciated.Stewart

I think a couple of guys are running about 9lbs intercooled and some are running up to 12lbs. Not really sure if anybody runs 12 or not.

I called ATI and they said that they are can sell me 12 rib pullies to replace the 8 rib ones (9lb) on the '91 so that when I make the switch from the 350 to the 412 it will make 14 to 16 psi (they say) with this P1SC. it is a 2 bolt block (w/ARP's), stock 400 crank, "X" mark 5.7" stock rods (w/ARP's), and dished forged TRW's (9.21 w/72cc TFS 23 degrees) and ARP head bolts. I hope she stays together long enough for some dynos and some passes at bandemere.

Stock block, crank, and rods. 15 psi non-intercooled boost. It worked for me, but I have gone to forged internals this year as a precaution. I am still utalizing the stock block, and plan on testing the limits with it.

tacoboy,

you maybe right but check out this thread https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=74537

but i do know that Willie did change to AFR aluminum heads, earlier this year, which may have changed his compression ratio.

I'll have to give im a shout, and find out.
