English as a second language

Being an old fart of forty-four years and learning to read and write before the advent of emoticons and greenspeak I am finding it frequently somewhat embarrasing to be associated with the Camaro, and the mouth breathers this marque seems to attract.
Make no mistake, the Camaro in all its variations is a fine automobile worthy of respect, but the fact that it is so incredibly affordable seems to make it way too attractive to the lower classes.
Am I an elitist?, absolutely. I have been a sports car enthusiast most of my life and have only recently discovered the genius of the Camaro/Z28/IROC.
In my not so humble opinion it is time to distance ourselves from the "trailer trash" persona that these cars convey.
Surely some of the other members must share in my embarassment of being associated with the yocals; do we branch of and form a snotty, selective club such as the Porsche Club Of America or do we try to elevate the level of debate and interaction between board members by blocking out the worst offenders of the english language?
If you are offended by this post I apologize, and next time I post I promise to use smaller words.

You're not the first older guy on here that has figured out where the "Shift" key is on his keyboard.

Don't worry about using smaller words. Just worry about spelling your "big" words correctly next time.

i.e.) "yocals" = "yokels"

I count 9 punctuation, grammar, and spelling errors in your post. Anybody see more?

BTW, here's a little associated reading for you: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=156447

well you can always leave, or sell the camaro because i don't think anything else is going to change any time soon. sad as it may be the fact is what you say is fairly accurate about the image projected by the camaro and firebird, among others. as for spelling and grammer i tend to spell words i don't know how to spell like i say them, with an accent. plus i'd be willing to bet most of the members here aren't trained typest, i think faster than i type and for some reason i make the same mistakes over and over. for example i always want to type think "ithnk". granted it's a typo but a spelling mistake none the less. as for the younger members there are a lot of them i flatout can't understand or even hurts to read. combine lack of grammer and spelling skills with a lack of technical knowledge and their threads make for some fun reading.

Why are you making another post about this? What the hell is wrong with you? Why don't you try contributing something positive to this site instead of complaining about spelling and grammer. Better yet, why don't you just leave if member's posts upsets you so much you conceited old fool.

LOL! Colin...I am proud of you! LOL!

But seriously I am not the best speller in the world, and I am even worse at typing. I think the old age has given you sometimers disease or something. Who care if it isn't spelt right...who cares if the punctuation is a bit off. As long as we all understand for the most part...who cares!!! Geezzz!!!

So I am considered trailer trash cause my spelling is a bit rusty?? Well then you can guess what I think you are then. But I am to nice to bother saying it. This topic will get close or erased cause it has been gone over more then enough times. So let drop it and get back to our toys.

People make mistakes, spelling and punctuation is some of em. As long as people are able to interpert what one is saying then I'm ok with spelling mistakes.
