so i just got some spam e-mail from a thirdgen owner telling me about this great seat reconditioning thing he has....

let me rant first before i give you all the e-mail stuff.

First of all if i had a problem with my seats i would use the search button that i am so familiar with and being here almost a year i know the people to ask around here, the forums to place it in and the place in which to get my information answered. I allow my e-mail address to be displayed so i can help others with questions...NOT FOR PEOPLE TO MAKE MONEY OFF ME!!! I love this site, i love the members and i honestly love the advice and help ive been provided with but i dont want to be aggravated with people that cant do sales the real way and make a site.

Hmmm....I just got an email from this guy also. I noticed he has a 215 area code phone number. That's Philadelphia which is like 5 minutes from me. Maybe I should pay him a visit and introduce a baseball bat to his computer.

 

This guys name is Mark Shields. He lives at RR 463 Montgomeryville, Pa 18936. Man I love having connections, hehe. Anyone up for a little fun??

other day my son told me someone was arrested (he's a depuity sheriff) with same name and middle inital as me and born in smae year. thing is my last name isn't that common and no common at all around here. although i do share the same name as one of the richest men in the world. just goes to show how small a world you really live in.

 

i got the same email. i didn't recognize the address, so i deleted it. i'm still not impressed with getting an unsolicited email

matt (fast83camaro350) sent me an im about it last night, that's how i found out what it really was about.

:shrug: just like any other spam mail i get, such as "how to refinance my mortgage", etc. funny thing is, i'm not a homeowner.

 

I haven't gotten it yet, but I tried calling collect with the name "Stop spamming thirdgen members, *******".

I got an answering machine though

thanks for the support guys... just the fact that someone is taking my e-mail from this site for spam use pissed me off...im gonan call this ****er every day collect!

 

i got that e-mail about 3 times, and havent gotten it in about 3 days. i just delete that crap when they come in.

 

That is pretty bad on this guys part. You should post his collect or 1-800 # for all, to up his bill to teach him a lesson.

 

******* is getting smarter. Just got his email and there was no phone number here, just email.

So, when is someone going to do something about this?? Is he just emailing us from the posts, or has he hacked into the TGO user database??? Something needs to be corrected. This is not acceptable.

 

Your email addresses are being harvested from this site the same as from newsgroups (if you use a real address) or anywhere that you post it publicly.

In the edit options set "Hide your email" to "Yes". That way it doesn't show up in your profile and can't be harvested.

Set "Send you an email when you receive a Private Message" to yes and only give out your email address through PM.

 

does anyone know if this guy is a regular around here? cause if so we could just ask him to stop.

No, I remember he made a post about it some time ago and the moderators locked it right up. He had made prolly only 5 posts I believe.

 

he's banned, looks like only reason he joined was to promote his products and service. spam him back, click reply and send.

 

If his seatcovers are anything like his really bad looking toupee, I wouldn't buy anything from him at all.

it's a shame that there are way too many greedy people in the world today,i list my email address, too, but to answer questions not to have my mailbox filled up with advertising products that i have no interest in at that particular time.if i do need a product/service,i'll come to you,thank you very much. this is a great website and there seems to be some really good fellow f-body fanatics that hang on here.i got some great ideas from the tech articles,too. let's not let a few bad apples spoil the barrel, if someone's out of line,call 'em out on it.the rest of us don't need to have to deal with it .

 

Use his e-mail to sign up for porno sites and other known sources of "spam". He'll be forced to get a new e-mail site and ruin all of his hard earned "spamming".

If he does it again - do it again. He'll get the message.
