Guess it's been a while since I've been on TGO on April 1st. We used to change everything for one day and it was great!

Been a member since late 2006, never saw TGO do anything for April 1st, I guess I may have not come on on those days. Sounds like it was funny though. To come on here and everything is misplaced.

The April fools jokes ended not long after Dirk sold the website. I believe the last time they did something was the year after it first sold. He had done plenty of funny things with the board, such as replacing it with a temporary board that had just a few sections in it, all named funny things. It was basically the one Off Topic day Thirdgen had a year. There was also the day that I believe the word "the" was replaced with a phrase. I can't recall exactly what that phrase was, however if you come across some really old posts from April 1st that don't make much sense, that is why.

I remember (maybe 2002?) the site being redirected to a tree huggers forum and we were all posting that we dump used oil down the drains and such. Also remember an really awful gay **** picture being posted!

Yeah the first time I saw it it took me a while to figure out "ohhh right April 1st"

One year, back in the late 90s when Titanic came out, on April 1st this site pointed to a Titanic Fans website. It was a blast... though I'm sure they didn't think so. There were hundreds of us that registered and completely took over that forum for the day.
