History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
OK,I found a 92 z28 auto with the 5.7......
Im not understanding the tech,so would like to know how many of these were made?...
I thought I read somewhere that all 5.7 92s were automatic as well....
Can someone tell me if all were autos, and how many autos were made with 5.7?
That's what I thought, but the tech page looks to say the car was automatic option?
Do u know how many were made?...Car is $2000.00
needs paint and drivers seat is worn from bigger guy getting in/out....
has 130,000 on speedo, but he said it quit, and put about 20,000 more on car....
body is solid, strait, dash pad cracked, needs headliner...runs really good...
Is this FAIR,or GOOD DEAL?

GM did not track how many Z28 coupes, also had the 350 engine. Presumably the 3,038 includes some B4C (Police Pkg) RS Camaros. So some of those 3,038 weren't Z28s.
Check the VIN number. 8th digit is an "8" on 350 cars, "F" on 305s, "E" on econo-toilet bowl injected 305s, and "T" on six cylinders.
Don't even worry about the small details. The vast majority of thirdgen Camaros are 305s. Most of those are low output sub-200hp boat anchors. Any 350 TPI Camaro is in the minority. When you get into the later years, production numbers were down because the 93-up body style was coming soon, and the thirdgens were long in the tooth. There's not much reason to even research 1LE. It's probably not a 1LE, and the 1LE package is mostly a bunch of monkey spank anyway.
Ok. You're getting a little confused here. The 1LE was a brake package that came on cars that were ordered with the 350 engine, G92 performance rear axle and AC delete, or on a 305, 5 speed with G92 and AC delete. If the car has AC, it's not a 1LE (unless it's a B4C, see below)
G92 was a performance rear axle option. On this car, the standard gear was 2.73. With G92, it was a package of other options that also gave 3.23 rear gears. This is was what you might hear as the performance model.
B4C was a police package or government use. The B4C option was used on the RS cars, not the Z28s. Can you say sleeper? This was the only way to get a 350 in the RS. If I remember correctly, all '92 B4C equipped RSs also had the performance brakes (1LE).
Would be nice if a moderator could combine the thread from elsewhere on the forum with this one. Kinda exasperating answering the same questions in multiple threads.
Yeah, not me. I have a bookmark for the History forum, then I manually back out to the different forums I might be interested in looking at. When I had my Charger Scat Pack, I tried that option when viewing their forums and found so much fluff that didn't interest me any that I needed to sift through. Maybe I should try it here. You know, get into the 21st century!!

Well,I do appoligize for your time......If I can,i'll delete the whole thing.....
Reason I asked here, was because at the time no one had answered my questions....
I really do appoligize for being so much trouble.....

No, it's fine... Things happen, no big deal. JT already closed the thread. It's just nice to have things in the right place so that people can find those threads in the future. Kind of like the card catalog at the library.
